The dark areas of a picture is red

The tv is 5 years old. the problem started slowly. the dark areas of a picture is red. If there is no black it the screen it would be tough to find any fault. first , it was intermittent . like , if the tv was on for a long time in a hot day. Over 3 or 4 months the problem evolved. now, it is always present. The black area is red. but it changes its intensity sometimes. if the whole screen is filled with black wallpaper, the red covers the whole screen. checked different inputs. SAME.Can u please tell me which part is the main culprit? THANKS

No Picture

Did you have color problems in past? Most of these sets have convergence problems. Amps goes out. But you should have seen some type of distortion from color, red, blue, green. If no color problems then maybe vertical ouput out or horizontal output bad.
