Question about Toshiba 65HM167 65" Projection Television
Replaced lamp on 65in dlp toshiba tv. still no picture,sound ok. tv tries to reset and power up 8 times then stops. could this be ballast issue or light engine?

This may sound obvious but did you check to make sure that your lamp access door is properly secured? The set will not power up if the door does not contact the micro switch. Also double check all of your internal wire connections. You may have inadvertently forgot to reconnect a cable or not fully seated one. I know I was guilty of both errors at one time or another while I was working on mine.

I found R3 on the original board to be open, along with reading an open on CR1, D5 and D6. All the other transistors and the transformer check out. The only thing I have to do now is find out the specs of the diodes. The replacement board also had CR1, D5 and D6 open (R3 was OK). There had been some threads on various locations where remanufactured boards had bad components (the transistors were changed but not some of the other components).
