2003 ford windstar stuck on defrost

The problem usually lies in the tee fitting that goes to the reservor they use a short piece of rubber hose that cracks and leaks this is the kicker very difficult to get to its between the firewall and the floorboard on passenger side. What will work to fix it on the cheap is take it loose before it goes into the firewall on passenger side engine compartment its a red hard plastic vacuum line that goes into a rubber connector turns black then runs into firewall disconnect there are anywhere on that line and find a place for your new vacuum line to go through the firewall on drivers side about a 3ft piece will work then under dash you'll find cluster whare a bunch of vacuum lines plug in just unplug the black one its the other end of the one you pulled off.and plug new line in. Fixed dont really need the reservor anyway.

How do you fix a snapped off antenna on a kia soul

@womonsoft7 I'm giddy with childish excitement because this actually worked for me "If you're lucky, you can sometimes just push a screwdriver against the edge of the screw and rotate the screw out that way". After reading this I thought it would be worth a try...It just happened to be loose enough for this to work. My Antenna was broken off by a low clearance garage door, actually thought I smashed in the roof, but it was just the antenna. Easiest fix imaginable.

I have seen this on the Quest units also. The problem is most likely in the flip up antenna connection. If you or know someone who is fairly comfortable in soldering small electronic connections it is a fairly easy fix. First, you can verify the problem is in fact the built in flip up antenna but connecting an external patch type antenna to the antenna port on the back. If the problem goes away, then the problem is definitely in the built in antenna.
If you lay the GPS display side down with the flip up antenna to your right, take a small phillips screwdriver and removed the two screws holding the endcap in place. Gently remove the endcap and CAREFULLY pull the antenna horizontally away from the GPS unit. Once you have done this, you can see the antenna is actually two pieces. With a small jewelers flat blade screwdriver, GENTLY pry in between where the two portions of the antenna shell meet and separate the two pieces of the antenna shell. Once this is done, it will expose the antenna circuit board and the small brass looking antenna connector. If the problem is in fact with the antenna connector, it may be loose or come loose in the process of prying the antenna shell apart. Use a low wattage soldering iron and solder the connector back in place being careful not to bridge the solder points. Reassemble the antenna and reinstall it on your GPS. Again, if you are not comfortable working with small electronic solder connections or don't have the proper equipment, get someone who is.

Losse antena

Did you purchase this unit new? If not, someone may have taken the unit apart and lost a small spring out of the antenna assembly. If you place the unit, display side down, with the antenna hinge away from you, there are two small phillips head screws on the right side. If you remove these screws, a small plastic endcap for the antenna assembly will come loose and the antenna can be removed. Where the endcap and the antenna are hinged together, there should be a small spring that puts tension on the antenna. If the spring is missing, the antenna will not remain in position.

Cb radio

Not having the radio in front of me,I would check the following things.

1: Loose wire on the antenna connector inside the radio. (cols solder joint)

2.Turn radio upside down with covers off, look for bad connections on the legs of the buffer, driver, or final. Also check the voltage regulator. It should be mounted on the side of the chassis on the same side the mike connector is. If you don;t see any loose connections I would suspect a bad final, or a bad connection in the antenna sysem.

When you say high band wiorks great, I would lean more on the antenna system. Some antennas do not Broadband well. A good going over on the system from coax to antenna is a good idea. Check for ground, corrision, swr. etc.
The thing that gets me going is when things get warm it works better. Well when things get warm, they expand and possibly a bad connection can fix itself.
The connex radio is a good radio, but a big truck can play hell with the circuit board.

Acquiring signal

This unit looses reception all of the time even with the antenna headphones placed right next to my cars antenna.
You need the car or home kit or else you will suffer many drop outs "aquiring signal".

Bad radio reception

Problem: Radio Reception is bad to non-existant. AM is usually worse than FM.

Reason: Antenna connector has come loose, and needs to be reconnected. This happens when a passenger pushes the carpet toward the firewall and disconnects the plug.

Affected Model Years: 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003

Permanent Fix:

1. First check to make sure the antenna at the back of the radio has not come loose.
2. Remove the plastic cover on the front passenger door threshold held in place by three pressure clips.
3. Peel back the carpet on the front seat passenger floor.
4. Locate the coax antenna cable running along the side.
5. Reconnect the two pieces of antenna that have come loose.
6. Roll the carpet back, and re-install the threshold cover.

How do you remove the antenna safely

I don't think there any screws under there, the case looks more like a snap together case.
I doubt that ik locks up because of the touch screen, maybe some erronous POI's caused the problem, try this (i found on the net)

When you're at the main screen, hold your finger on the time in the upper right corner for more than 5 seconds, and you'll get to an info screen, and back/next buttons lower right of screen.
There's some sound diagnostics, and screen tests, and lots of info pages - including one with some battery status/statistics. To get out of the diagnostic mode, power cycle your unit...and when you do this, it will take some time to lock on to satellites.
