I have charged it and borrowed an identical charger incase it was the cord. Still will not turn on. I was wanting to turn it on to reset the tablet as it would not go further than the 'android' screen. I was advised by Thomson to reset which worked for that problem. But when I tried turning on to reset it will not turn on. I'm lost without my tablet...any help would be appreciated. Thank You
If your tablet will not power on, try holding the Power Button and the Volume Down button at the same time for 10+ seconds and it should boot up.
Thank You for your quick response. I just tried your suggestion but nothing happened :( Any other ideas? The tablet warms slightly when plugged in which makes me think it is charging ok. Just wont turn on.
Ok - we can try the hard reset. Bear with me, there are a few button sequences to push :>)
1. Power off the device - since your device is already off, youcan skip this step !
2. Hold down the Power Button and BOTH the Volume UP and Volume Down button at the SAME time for a few seconds - a menu will appear.
3. Use the Volume Down button to scroll down to Recovery.
4. Select the Recovery option by pushing the Volume Up button once.
5. There will be a pause of a few seconds and an Android image lying on its side with an Exclamation in a triangle will show up.
6. Push BOTH Volume UP and Volume Down button at the SAME time for a few seconds and the following menu will show up:
-Reboot System Now
-Apply update from external storage
-Apply update from ADB
-Wipe data/factory reset
-Wipe cache partition
7. Use the Volume Down button to scroll to Reboot the system now. If you want a full factory reset you can scroll down to that option (This will wipe all your data on the tablet!)
8. Once you have chosen your selection, press the power button once.
9. If you chose to reboot, the tablet should boot up normally. If you chose the reset to factory default, there will be a message that the data is being wiped. It may take several minutes and will return to the Reboot menu. Press teh Power button and reboot.
Hope this really helps you out with your issues. If this does not work, you will need other experts to help you as I am out of ideas.
Good luck !
