Question about Sony KLV-S32A10 32 in. HD-Ready LCD Television

1 Answer

KLV-S32A10 overscan problem, only have "wide" zoom mode.

I noticed when playing games that things on the sides are cut off. Went to the settings to look for the "zoom" setting and I only have the "wide" option. I'm using HDMI, from a PS4, but the same happens for a PS3 and a laptop. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Go to settings and use anything other than wide option. Setting there - just look for it.

Turn auto format on and see what happens - have nada to lose.

How do I enter the service menu on an Emerson EWF2004 CRT Television? (Pictures of the OVERSCAN ISSUE will be provided if needed.)

Older sets had vertical and horizontal size controls. If you have the horizontal size control, turning it counterclockwise will reduce the size of the picture horizontally and reduce the overscan.

Hi,
Do one thing Go to the menu of the tv. Select Picture setting and then select Advanced video and select Zoom mode. In zoom mode select Wide. If you hve already done this ,

Then select the Overscan option in the same menu page and select it as ON .
Next one select Auto zoom in the same menu page and select it as OFF.

OK

What does HD ready mean? Is my Sony Bravia LCD acctually an HD TV or not?

High definition ready is different to Full High defintion for the simple reason the software is different to prove play a HD play station game on both and you will immediately see the difference in picture quality however the difference is not so significant on your normal satellite HD channels depending on the resolution the TV can produce

Wide screen mode won't go back to "normal".

Was exactly what you said. The cable box settings were in wide mode. Couldn't figure it out at all. Funny thing was too.. on my cable box remote, the button under the #9 button is the # button.. it doesn't say zoom at all.. but it totally controls the zoom.

So thanks for that.. AND thanks for saying "under the #9 on the cable remote" instead of just saying .. the zoom button.

Thanks again!!!

The ticker tape or lower banner is not visible on HD channels

It sounds like the TV is in overscan mode, thus chopping off part of the screen. Check your manual to see how you can change this mode. The mode also might be in 'Zoom', thus chopping off part of your picture

Switch to that input, and run the Auto Convergence for that input (Setup menu on the TV, Convergence). Convergence settings save for that particular input.
