The machine would have to have a button on it that says start or stop, I just sold one that didn't use a foot pedal.

Will a memory craft 4000 work without a foot pedal

Most machines require some sort of foot or knee pedal. There are, of course, treadle machines that you actually "pump" with your feet. There are also hand-crank machines available. Some of the newer machines that have a free motion capability can be set to stitch only when the fabric is moved under the lens, however, that is probably best only for free motion quilting and not for actually stitching seams, etc.

If your machine is lacking the foot pedal, check to see if a replacement can be found. Frequently, a sewing repair shop can either locate a generic or wire one for your machine.

Here's a manual for your machine:

Can I purchase a foot pedal, adaptor,(if required) and an instruction manual for synergy 8 stitch sewing machine please.

This type of machine is usually referred to as a mini sewing machine and as such it is manufactured by the million with minor styling variations and various makers' badges. They all use the same foot control and power adaptor.

The simplest solution is to search for "mini sewing machine foot pedal" or similar on eBay, but don't pay very much because the machines are simply not worth it. They can be bought new for around £50 including accessories and manual etc. I think about a£10 is what you might have to pay but honestly you'd be better off with a second hand full sized machine.

You haven't said which country you are in so I'm going with the UK. Here's a start: ELECTRIC MINI SEWING MACHINE FOOT PEDAL AND POWER LEAD

Foot pedal not working

Well, you are definitely getting power from the electric plug in.

Let's do some diagnostic work. Do you hear anything when you press the foot pedal? Any hum? Did you happen to leave it in bobbin winding mode?

your machine doesn't have a "sew" button for use without the pedal. So please rotate the hand wheel toward you as you press the pedal. Did the motor take over and sew?

If you know someone with a meter... have them test the pedal. (they will place probes on/in the part that plugs in which tests for shorts, etc.) If that tests ok... then we know it's something more than the pedal and it will need servicing by a Singer Tech.

The foot pedal makes noise, but won't turn bobbin.

only having the machine check at a sewing machine repair shop can say for sure

Foot pedal doesn't work

well if the foot pedal isn't working, you can either replace it with a new one or take the machine to a sewing machine repair shop & let them check the foot pedal & see if it's fixable

What is err code F04

It most likely is your foot pedal. Unplug your foot pedal and start the machine without it. If it works properly without the foot pedal plugged in then your foot pedal needs repaired or replaced. This worked for us with the NX400 machine and I am sure the NX450 is closely similar. Don't bother to buy a Manual if you didn't already get one with the machine. A Service manual and parts manual is best; But just so you know they don't show the error codes unless you are a qualified and authorized repair person for the machines. I got my info from the repair man where my wife buys and repairs her machines. I am an electronic technician and mechanic so I understand how this system works. I will be repairing my wife's machines from now on.
