If alarm code E90 is displayed on the control panel, it means no water is flowing through the system. Check with Intex for a repair manual ( On line and google..)

SOURCE: We have a LED code showing on the new Intex pure spa. E97 Dry-fire Protection. What does it mean

Dry fire protection is when the heater has a call to heat but it is sensing NO water flow, therefore heater will be disabled.

A dry fire is when the heater comes on with NO water flow - damaging your heater beyond repair.

Causes: No water in tub, closed valves, clog restricting water flow, or the pressure/flow switch had failed?

SOURCE: I've got an Intex pure spa hot tub and the air bubbles button isn't working but the LED screen is on??? Any suggestions?

  • Do the other buttons work fine?
  • Did you press REALLY hard and break it
  • Have you tried pressing it REALLY hard when its not broken- Probably a bad idea
  • if you have the know how and the bravery take the face plate off (MAKE SURE THE POWER IS OFF AND THE WHOLE THING IS UNPLUGGED)!!!!!1
  • check the wires going to the back panel of the screen Rusted, corroded? Might be covered under warranty - refer to manual or look-up based on how long you've had unit

SOURCE: I keep getting a E96 code on my intex pure spa and

RE: INTEX PureSpa - E96 error code.

This also happened to me, just after having it for 1 year. I followed the scanty instructions in the troubleshooting section to no avail. I called for "technical assistance" twice and got random females with heavy Asian accents and absolutely NO technical know-how.

ME: "I got a E96 error code."
AL (Asian Lady): "When you buy it? If less than year, we send new base."
ME: "It's been longer than that, can I just buy the base then?"
AL: "Yes, $380 and we send it you."
ME: "But I paid $350 for the whole thing new!"
AL: "It's cheaper just buy new one."
ME: "Sure, but can't we troubleshoot this one?"
AL: "We can no more troubleshooting."

No supervisor was available, I was told to hang up and try again for someone else. Persisting, I pried info from one that it was "pump bloken," from the other "bad consore." I believed both were full of it and had no idea what they were talking about.

MY FIX: I disconnected unit from spa. Removed console from base. Turned base upside down to inspect pump and find any ID markings. Found no obvious problem with pump or heating mechanism. Spend few hours time researching cost to buy identical pump. Gave up. Returned to unit, reassembled it, and it worked perfectly!

MORAL TO THE STORY: Intex products are fine, their Tech Support is a joke. I suspect the console had detected air in the pump and that it was stuck in a system error cycle which required a prolonged rest from any power input to refresh. Also, turning the unit over (while inspecting it) may have flushed any remaining water around the onboard pump sensor.

Don't listen to their know-nothing "tech support" when they suggest it is a GFCI problem, (or some of the others here who give this advice without really knowing).

Just keep it fully unplugged for at least a few hours to wipe the system memory!
Since it's a circuit board, it's like a mini-computer. Actually, it's just like a modem that requires resetting. If you unplug it and then replug it too soon, you've solved nothing, the on-board circuitry retains enough voltage to prevent it from resetting. You need to keep it unplugged for an extended period of time.

Hope this helps. Best of luck!

-Matt

Error code 90 on my Intex spa even after buying and replacing new pump . Checked for blockages but everything is clear. Got clean water in and new filter.

The E90 code on the Intex spa is due to a dirty water flow sensor. ... The black wire is plugged into a white wire, carefully unplug it and unscrew the sensor. Pump is not pumping water on intex purespa error E90, what could be the problem?

I to have run into this issue and i saw a repair using a piece of brass rod. If you open the motor cap where the impeller is located you will find the impeller guide shaft is made of a cheep piece of plastic and has broken it is a magnetic motor guided assembly and all it does is hold the impeller in the exact place. well i have found just the piece that you can fashion a quick fix from and you can find it at any hardware store. I happened to get mine from home Depot. buy a toilet handle brass lift kit paid 3.00 for it.
the larger piece is a perfect fit cut it to size and file the end of any sharp edges. works great
