Dryer heats, but tumbles too slow

Heats, and tumbles so slow that it takes over 1 1/2 hours to dry a normal load. Sounds like the clothes are going up to the top of the drum and then dropping. Is this normal? I don't think it should take that long to dry, and should be a more consistent tumble.

Without a model number this is just a guess. If your dryer is electric heat, you could have 1/2 of your heating element burned out. Some GE electric dryers have a 2 part heating element. One is used for gentle cycle and both come on for normal. One can be burned out and still work but takes twice as long to dry as normal, which is your exact problem. If its gas heat, then look for a blocked or bent vent pipe, or possibly a bad thermostat. Dryer drums do not turn very fast.

Has the fan cover housing been clean recently?
If your dryer is getting hot, but is taking very long dry a load, you may have an air flow problem

Haier not drying

Two possible causes. Try cleaning the fabric softener residue off of the temperature/moisture sensor. The other cause could be the thermostat has failed.

two things come to mind; 1. although drum is rotating perhaps it is slipping under load. Change drum belt, and, 2. perhaps the problem isn't in the dryer, it could be that your washer is not spinning out properly leaving an inordinate amount of water in your clothes which would tax the performance of the dryer. Just a thought. good luck!

Dryer heats but takes forever to dry the clothes, sometimes over two hours

sounds like your exhaust is either clogged or has a kink in the hose.

Wed9200sq0 heats, tumbles but does not dry at any heat setting

You are correct. Pull the dryer out and disconnect your venting from the back of the dryer. Turn your dryer on and check to make sure your dryer is blowing air out of the dryer duct. If it is then leave your dryer out at least 2 ft from the wall and run a load of clothes through the dryer. If it dries your clothes normally then you have a venting restriction. Check to make sure your venting is clean, not kinked or smashed, make sure your outside vent is opening an doesn.t have something blocking it. Check your lint screen filter by running water through it. If water is not flowing through it, you have a build up of fabric softener on your screen, blocking air flow. Scrub your screen off and test again. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists

My dyer heats and tumbles, but doesn't dry

I'd check first for clogged vent hose or clogged lint filter or clogged vent flap on wall (outside).

If that's not a problem, it may be a faulty thermostat. Heating element is probably okay if it heats some of the time.

More info, let me know.

Dryer heats, tumbles clothes, blows air out exhause vent, but wont dry clothes

what type is this electric or gas? have you removed the exsaust from the wall and ran a load like this? if you have heat and this is an electric dryer it sounds like you have a blockage in your house. if the dryer runs fine without the exsaust attached then that is your problem. let me know
