please run a channel scan on your tv before checking for the issue again. If the issue persists, please remove all accessories from the tv before restarting it. If necessary, you can then power cycle the tv. Otherwise, you can move onto running a factory reset on your Sony tv.
if the line is temporary then re connect the cables in side the tv but the line is permeant then change the panel because this kind of line is in side the panel & not removed.

If problem is one side or one half of the picture this LCD may have an inverter issue--Google the model number with either "inverter" or Parts to see if the issue is known.
Lines that are black usually are either a "handshake" issue where boards are not communicating properly or a bad board or even a bad display unit (main screen Panel) which is fatal.
This requires testing and or replacing boards to see if a board or the Display panel is causing this issue.
In most cases is the screen is covered with vertical lines all the way accross the screen then the T-Con module is at fault. The t-con board is replaceable without having to replace the entire LCD panel which would usually make it cheaper than replacing the TV. The part number I come up with is 1-857-213-11. Please take a moment to rate my answer. Thanks...
What you're describing is usually the result of an improperly seated connector. With the power disconnected, open the tv and locate any connectors between the LCD screen and the driver circuit board. Unplug them, and reconnect it assuring it's properly and firmly seated. Be careful when handling these cables as they tend to be quite fragile... take your time.
More information is required. Your backlight is lit (screen not dark) but I need to know what you have connected to the TV (your sources) and how they are connected. Does the menu/OSD (on screen display) work?
