The option to keep the display bright is not found under settings in the Android app, but under the font settings. If you tap the centre of your screen whilst reading your book the icons will appear at the top of your screen. Click the font size icon, and a drop down list of settings will appear. The one at the bottom deals with brightness.

On a kindle fire 7 can you increase the font size of a downloaded book?

Hi. Yes this is possible. With the page in view double tap on the screen. A menu appears at the top of the screen. Look for the icon Aa. On opening this there is a choice of options e.g. Brightness, text size, colour, font etc. To change the text size tap on the + sign and the text size will increase. To decrease use the - sign. Enjoy your kindle.

How do I get the back light to come on to read Kindle books.

i think this has somthing to do with the kindle settings in the app. check those and check power settings of your tab it might dim to save power when bettery is on so check and change that. also i believe if you double tap the bottom right corner it brings up the kindle brightness controller.

How do I make my kindle fire screen brighter?

Adjusting Screen Brightness The screen on the Kindle Fire uses more power than anything else, and the brighter the screen, the more battery power it uses. To increase battery life, you can lower the brightness of the display.
Unlock the rest of this book. Swipe the status bar down to open the Settings drawer.
Unlock the rest of this book. Tap Brightness.
Unlock the rest of this book. Slide the brightness control to the right to increase brightness and to the left to decrease brightness.

How can I print my user manual on my Kindle 3G

There are several ways you can print pages from Kindle books:

  1. Highlight the passage you want to print. Highlighted text is stored in "My Notes and Marks" text file in the documents folder. You can then open this file with any word processing software and print the parts that you want
  2. Use Kindle for PC. While having the page in question open, press Alt-PrintScreen. Paste the screenshot from the clipboard into photo processing software like Photoshop or MS Paint and print it from there. If you have Google Picasa installed, it will automatically save thescreenshot
  3. Take a screenshot on the Kindle device by pressing Alt-Shift-G. Screenshots are stored as GIF files in the \documents folder. You can then open them in image processing software and print.
  4. You can plain and simple put your Kindle face down on the copy machine and copy it as a regular piece of paper.

I just downloaded a book and changed the screen from white to black. Then I dimmed the brightness all the way down and now I have a black screen. I cannot see the settings to adjust the brightness back...

It all depends on the generation of Kindle you have. On mine I swip down from the top of the screen an the lighting an settings come up. Maybe this will help. Mine is 5 generation. On my earlier one it was different.
