If the door is actually locked and giving the FL code, the latch has a problem. You can try power-cycling the washer (unplug for a while) or setting the washer to pump the water out. If these steps don't help, you need to order a replacement latch assembly. Depending on your washer model, you may have a manual pull cord to unlock the door. I had this problem also with my Maytag Neptune TL. The door lock would click muptiple times before displaying the FL code. I was able to fix this by removing the left door look(the one with the door close sensor) and cleaning the 2 metal pones on top of the left door mechanism, which had rusted and no longer was able to since the door closed. I use a nail file i sure eaither that or sandpaper will do. After that it went through the whole cylce without stopping or displaying the "FL" code.......hope this helps

FL code is Failure to Lock. You have a problem with your Door Latch/Lock Assembly
