If your player is the Sony SLV-D380P, the unit does not play Blu-ray discs. It is only a DVD player and VCR. It can play some CDs. The discs must be finalized for homemade video DVDs and audio CDs. You can find the specifications and manuals here: https://esupport.sony.com/US/p/model-home.pl?mdl=SLVD380P&template_id=1®ion_id=1&tab=manuals#/manualsTab .
It's something about the Burlesque dvd. I have the same problem with mine when I try and play it on my Sony blue-ray player. It's the only disc I have that it won't play. Disc is a DVD Video disc but it will no't play in the Sony player. It plays fine on other dvd players and my computer, but not on the Sony.
hi, may be of upgrading problem or all blue ray disc won't play in all players. if a blue ray plays on a blue ray player may will not work in another one and vise versa. not all the discs some one. ok
You can try using a BRD lens cleaner to clean the blue ray lens, but with a Sony blue ray it is better to call Sony first, as using this kind of equipment may affect your warranty status.
Call Sony at the number listed on the owners manual and describe the problem. Alternatively see Sony Global - "Contact Us"
i fixed this exactly as previous posted solutions, however a couple of points.
a) recordable CDs work if you don't have a DVD burner.
b) I didn't have a CD burner that would do an "image burn", I downloaded a free copy of "Express Burn" and that worked fine. The disk needs to be "finalised" or "fixated", it should do this automatically, or it may be a tick box selection.
c) I got a "No DWLD 09" when I put the disk into the player. I found this was an incompatibility with the CD-R (Maxwell) I was using. I changed to JVC and it worked fine.
