This is a MAJOR VENT: This is the most worthless piece of **** I've ever had I've had *nothing* but problems since I've had this for the past few years. I'm in the middle of a 7 page print job - the printer decides it has to clean - and it's happened not once, not twice, not even three times - it's EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. THEN, it starts printing the ENTIRE PRINT JOB all over again. Goes right back to page 1, starts printing.. gets up to the last 1/4 of the print job and has to go back and CLEAN AGAIN. So here I am, already trying to move on to the next series of printouts, getting them all que'd up - and the first print job stops, does all but the last few pages because it stops to frickin' clean - and NOW I have to go back to the first print job, CANCEL ALL QUE'D print jobs, pull the plug on the printer so it stops whatever the heck it is doing, go BACK to whatever papers I was printing, find the last couple of pages that didn't print, set those pages up TO print, plug the printer back in, HOPE it doesn't decide to "clean" again - print out the last few pages of "print job #1". Que up print job #2 - and of COURSE in the middle of print job #2, this **** equipment decides to CLEAN AGAIN - stops printing near the end of print job #2, spouts out a 1/2 printed sheet of now wasted paper! Meanwhile of course I'm now working on printjob #3 - and so the cycle keeps repeating This clean **** is the biggest waste of ink, paper, etc. I've hated this thing since my money-saving-frugal husband bought this one home instead of a better brand. Y'all have no idea how many times I've had to get up and walk out of the room before I picked it up and threw it across the room. This is the most worthless piece of so-called printer I've ever had. Try printing out your 60 page tax returns - and after about page 20 - the printer stops printing, starts frickin' CLEANING - and then goes back and starts to REPRINT THE ENTIRE PRINT JOB - BEGINNING with page ONE all over again - when I've already got the first 20 pages. It's possessed - no other way to describe it. Does anyone know how to TURN OFF that stupid "clean" feature? Not to mention, I can put in new ink cartridges - and I'm still being told that the ink is empty. Canon take me away.
Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.
1. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET STOP SPOOLER (this will stop the
print spooler service)
2. Browse to your windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS\
folder. You should see files there ending in .SPL and .SHD created around the
time you tried to print - delete these files.
3. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET START SPOOLER (this will restart the
print spooler service)
4. Double click the printer icon in the lower-right
corner of your taskbar to examine your print job queue and browse to View ->
Refresh.
