I believe you have to "root" the Android operating system to change the download directory. Android systems all use special directories or folders for most common operations. That is why all Android phones have a Download, a Music, a Camera (and/or DCIM), a Photo, and a Video directory or folder. You have to change commands in the Android operating system to point elsewhere, and to do that you need root access.

HOW TO INSTALL FROM SOURCE IN LINUX

HOW TO INSTALL FROM SOURCE IN UBUNTU 9.10
Installing from source in linux is not very easy...... but once you know what to do, then it becomes a very easy task.

STEP 1 Tar.gz and Tar.bz2 Packages
The installation procedure for software that comes in tar.gz and tar.bz2 packages isn't always the same, but usually it's like this:
1.Download the tar.gz or tar.bz2 package
2.Extract the file
3.Open to the terminal
4.Use the cd command to change to the directory where the package is extracted
5.Use the following:

$ ./configure
$ make
$ make install

Without Using The Extraction Method
Open to the terminal
Run the following:
$ tar xvzf package.tar.gz (or tar xvjf package.tar.bz2)
$ cd package
$ ./configure
$ make
$ make install

!!!!THIS IS AWESOME!!! …... ISN'T IT?

STEP 2 .Deb Packages
Installation of .deb packages are in different forms or methods depending on the users understanding and how the user is flexible with the terminal.

1.Download the package
2.Extract the package
3.Change to the directory containing the package
4.Run the following

sudo dpkg -i package_file.deb

!!!! AND YOU ARE DONE!!!

LINUX X64 AND X86 BINARY INSTALLATION
1.Download the package
2.Open to the terminal
3.Use the cd command to change to the directory containing the package

FOR X86 PACKAGES.........
$ chmod +x filename-ver.*-linux-i686.run
$ sudo ./filename-ver.*-linux-i686.runFOR X64 PACKAGES........

$ chmod +x filename-ver.*-linux-x86_64.run
$ sudo ./filename-ver.*-linux-x86_64.run

My widows is VISTA. I am trying to download ADOBE FLASH PLAYER 10. But it is not working now. So, tell me how i can download it. Shihab

Hi.
Here is what I found on the network regarding your problem.
It might help you.

Here's the scenario: you download the latest and greatest version of the Adobe Flash Player. After it finishes installing, you go to a site featuring Flash content and are greeted with a message notifying you that you need to install Flash Player, but didn't you just do that? To properly update your Flash Player, you need to run the installation as Administrator. Follow these steps to properly install Adobe Flash Player:
For Vista (32 bit):
1. Open Computer.
2. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\.
3. Scroll down and open the Macromed directory.
4. Open the Flash directory.
5. Right-click FlashUtil9b.
6. Select Run as Administrator.
7. When the UAC prompt appears, select Continue.
8. Follow the Flash Player installation wizard.
For Vista (64 bit):
1. Open Computer.
2. Navigate to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\.
3. Scroll down and open the Macromed directory.
4. Open the Flash directory.
5. Right-click FlashUtil9b.
6. Select Run as Administrator.
7. When the UAC prompt appears, select Continue.
8. Follow the Flash Player installation wizard.
Once the wizard completes, Flash Player has been properly installed and will now function properly.

How do I change WHERE a file automatically downloads to?

What browser are you using? Internet Explorer or Firefox or Googlechrome? etc..etc..?

For internet explorer 8, click start (Run) or simply type in "regedit" in the Run box (windows xp) or Search box (windows vista and 7), and then on the regedit, locate this HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer then open Download and again on the right pane, you'll be able to see "Download Directory" double-click it and change the directory to whatever you want, lick if you want to download set it to D: drive, type in D:\Download (download as the folder name), click "Ok" and you are done, the default download folder/directory has been changed.

If your browser is Firefox, click Tools, then Options and again on the General tab, locate download, then "Save files to" then click "Browse" and locate the folder or directory where you want to save all the downloads.

In Googlechrome, simply click the settings "icon" on the extreme-top right corner (spanner icon), select "Options" and on the "under the hood" tab, scroll down to the middle and locate "Download" then click "Browse" and locate the directory/folder where you want to save the downloads, click "Ok" to select the folder.

If you need further help, let me know with the name of the browser you are using. I'll upload some well illustrated photos if you want.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

First of all please set the default storage to memory card for WAP Downloads in your corby pro.
1. Get all the jar files, mp3, mp4, flash objects etc and store it in a directory on your laptop/PC which you want to download to your corby pro
2. Make that directory a Virual directory in Personal Web server of IIS in XP.
3. GO to IIS - Default Web Site - Properties - HTTP headers - MIME File Types
4. Add the following 2 new file types so that your PC/LAPTOP becomes a WAP GATEWAY !!!
a. Associated Extension: .jad, Content Type: text/vnd.sun.j2me.app-descriptor
b. Associated Extension: .jar, Content Type: application/java-archive

5. Get the JADMAKER.exe available freely on internet.
6. Use jadmaker to get jad file out of the jar files.
7. put both jad and jar in the same directory which is virtual directory in personal web server of IIS.
8. Assign IP address 192.168.0.1 and subnet mask 255.255.255.0 to your laptop/pc wifi card
9. Assign IP address 192.168.0.2 and subnet mask 255.255.255.0 to your Corby Pro

10. Point the corby pro browser to 192.168.0.1/corby, where corby is the virtual directory configured in IIS pointing to actual directory.
11. You will get the list of files on your corby pro browser, select the jad file of the game/application and see the message you are getting , Go Ahead !!!

Now you can download the contents from your laptop or pc exactly in the same way as if you are downloading it from mobile operators without paying the network charges.

Where do the pictures go.

The files are generally either under a directory under the Program Directory in My Programs directory. OR Under a Directory in My Documents. As a soloution what about doing a "Search" for them... when you find them take note of where they are stored for future reference. I use this below program to find stuff it is IMHO better than M$ search. http://www.mythicsoft.com/agentransack/download.aspx
