It
means that it is time for the car to receive it's scheduled
maintenance. Different Maintenances - A - B - C - cover different items.
Maintenence is usually alternating, 13k miles, C Maintenance, 26k miles
A maintenace, 39k miles C Maintenace again etc...
The C
Maintence tells you and your service center what services to perform.
Your local Mercedes dealer can tell you what exactly is invlolved in the
C Maintenance for a 2006 E Class.
Bring up the FSS and check what service items are listed for the "C"
service. The "C" only means that approx 3 hrs are required to perform
the service. If the car is still under warranty, I believe the oil
& filter will be free and the rest of the stuff will cost. Here's

It is a check engine light.A loose gas cap or oxygen sensor failure are the most common fault.A scanner like the snap on MODIS or equivalent can give the code for the fault.
