SOURCE: tv shuts off spontaneously. red power light blinks.

re: sony flat panel lcd tv mod. # klv s 40a10.
No power. When power button is pressed, nothing happens.
The stand-by at the power supply ( cn6201) measures to be 3.47 v. instead of 5 v. However, when I unplug cn6201 (5 pin connector) I can read 5v. at the power supply.
Any suggestions?

Some time ago, I was watching TV, then, all of sudden, the TV screen has gone, just like 'blank'. The main power (red light) keeps on blinking. Normally, it is just on, not blinking. TV doesn't respond at...

These blinks (flashes) are fault indication. By the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can vet an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside the TV. Count the blinks occur at one time switch ON, carefully. Do it once again, and make sure about the number of blinks. If the flashes are continious, non-stop, the main system control IC should be suspected. If you wish to get more details, check the site linked here. It has blinking codes detail to many brand TVs. Plasma tv th-42pd50u not come on and keep blinking red light two times and then stop again blinking red light two times and then stop not come on

The light blinking twice means there is a fault within the system and it is a code to tell Panasonic where roughly the fault lies.
Go to Panasonic's web site and look for your set then input the fault code and hopefully they will tell you where the fault lies.

Tv wont turn

The blinking red light at the the front of the television is the "Diagnostic STANDBY/TIMER LED".
This little red light will blink 2, 4, or 5 times and then stay off for three-seconds. And blink again for 2, 4, or 5 times. This cycle repeats. The most common diagnostic code is the 4-blink code.

When the red LED blinks 4-times, it means one of two possible causes:
1) +13V is not supplied on the A-board. Or, 2) IC502 is faulty.

It is best to take this television set to a repair facility and ask that the +13V power supply be repaired.
The copper tracks and integrated circuit pads are very thin and delicate on the KV-24FV12 circuit board, and will easily lift off of the circuit board, if the incorrect desoldering tool is used. Unless one has a good quality PACE vacuum desoldering unit, one should not attempt to repair the television.
