Fix my plasma tv

Plasma TV's have a shelf life. By that I mean the screen is only good for so many hours depending on the model. Most likely, you have burnt out the screen and the set will need to be replaced. The good news is, plasma TV's used to be better than LCD but that is no longer the case. You can get a very high quality LCD TV for a very low price now. Also they use a fraction of the power and don't generate all of the heat of a plasma.I'm sure this is not what you wanted to hear but the reality is that ALL plasma TV's do this eventually, and it is something that most salesmen back in the day didn't bother to tell customers. If you have an extended warranty, you may be able to get it replaced.

The tv was working fine until this morning, then the picture went out but the sound is still working.
TV is only 3 years old, no real electrical problems

This will be your Y SUSTAIN board on the left hand side when you take the back off.

If the menu display isn't coming up either, then the odds are the power supply for the screen is the problem. Most manufactures call this a Backlight Inverter Board. Being that it's only 7 month old, it should still be under warranty by the manufacture. I would try to get it fixed by the warranty first if possible.

Ur backlight video board is dead.U need a new board.

This plasma might have been manufactured by Chinese manufacturer using LG parts.
This type of failure is normally due to a defective Ysus board and in some cases the Zsus board fails as well.
Please provide the model number of your plasma to help you locate the service parts that are needed to fix the TV.

I've had the same problem main board went out it's a 100.00 part fixed myself.
