I have read your comment on the other answer,Lets start with proper air gap on the new module ,take a piece of printer paper and fold it to make four thickness , loosen the module place the four thickness folded paper in between the module and flywheel turn the flywheel to where the magnet pulls the two together, tighten the module bolts rotate the flywheel as you pull on the folded paper to remove the folded paper. As a test unplug the little wire from the spade on the module ( it will not shut off from the key with this wire unplugged) and see if you have spark or if it starts,
it probably will and this means that it is a safety switch on the mower that is grounding that little wire that you unplugged on the module. Let us know what you have at this point to continue.
PS: it won't hurt anything for it to run with the wire unplugged from the module other then it wont shut off from the key, pull spark plug wire.
Does it have contact points? If so they may need replacing. Or is the flywheel key sheared?
Testimonial: "it doesn't have points and the flywheel is not sheared."
