Multiple problems with kindle fire. need to have it looked at and made functional. Tell me how to do this. Very confused and unhappy with seeking help.

You may need to go into settings and do factory reset. If you've had your info sent to cloud, it will reload all your info. You may just have to redo a few applications.

Amazon kindle suport web page

If I understand you correctly, you have a new Kindle Fire HD and would like to transfer the data from your old Kindle Fire to your new Kindle Fire HD. This is easy, follow these steps:
Step 1: Connect the old Kindle to Wireless. Pull down the upper status bar, select More + and then select My Account on the old Kindle
Step 2: Using the Old Kindle, select Deregister under My Account, let the task complete
Step 3: When the old Kindle has Deregistered, then pickup the new Kindle. If you accidentally registered this Kindle Deregister it and then Factory Reset the device.
Step 4: Now the old Kindle is Deregistered and the new Kindle is factory Fresh, let's begin the process.
Step 5: On the new Kindle, let's reboot after Factory Resetting the device. When the device powers back up you should be presented with a login Window. Go ahead and register the device to the same account as the Old Kindle. The sync process should begin automaticlly, it can take up to one full day to sync all your content.

How to set password if we lost the old

Hey there,
If you cannot enter the password, you will need to reset your kindle back to factory settings. On the back panel, there is a small reset button: http://www.blogkindle.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/kindle-reset.gif
  1. First, you need something pointed like a paper clip or the tip of your earing.
  2. Now, open the back cover of your kindle by pressing it firmly while sliding it to the right using your thumbs.
  3. You will then see the reset button as shown on the picture. Use the paper-clip or your earing's pointed tip to press on the reset button.
  4. A few seconds after pressing the button, your kindle will then reboot and will be restored.
Note that you will need to reload all of your eBooks back onto the kindle after doing this.
Hope this helps, thanks for using fixya. Dont forget to rate!

My Kindle (version 3) suddenly won't connect to my wireless network. I've re-entered our wireless passcode, but still doesn't work.

On a wifi connection when you see problems the cause will either be the device or the wifi router.
If you can try the kindle out on a different network this will tell you if it is the kindle or the network. If it connects then it not the kindle. It could be a setting or the router.

If it is a setting the two biggies are going to be something wrong with the security passcode or it isn't getting through the gateway out onto the internet. For settings you need to check things like using wep when it should be wpa or the wep key is 64bit when it needs to be 128 or in the wrong key location and so on.

When it can't get through the gateway that usually means your dhcp is wrong or you are using fixed ip. You can just set these numbers manually in the kindle.

The other usual suspect is that the router itself is beginning to fail. This usually shows up first as difficulty to connect and dropped connections or increasing errors. It will eventually fail. This is common and typical of all home grade wifi routers. They are good for about 18 months or so. If this is the case you might notice slow downs or dropped connections on other wifi devices. These units are not repairable so you just need to replace it.

Out of all the possibilities I would say your first choice would be the security settings and next would be the the router. Those are the two most common problems.
