My Simpson Water Shotgun shuts down about a minute into the wash

My power washer worked fine until I ran out of gas. After refueling it would start and I would began to wash again. Within a minute the motor shuts down. It won't start immediately but after several minutes of waiting it will start up again. It runs fine for the first minute of washing and then dies again.

I appreciate the help.

Yes, I did. It was just below the indicator and I added oil to bring it up to the correct level.

Have you checked the oil level? Some engines have a sensor that shuts it down if the oil is too low

Pressure washer stalls out when wand nozzle is released

Remove the hose and run the machine. If the machine works and the flow of water is ok. Start checking the hose for a restriction and trigger. Make sure this is correct before you start taking the pump to bits

When I start my pressure washer on full choke it works fine when I place choke in wide open position gas runs out of the carburetor.what could be wrong.the engine issas by Briggs and Stratton.

You need to take the float bowl off the carb from the bottom . You haven't given a lot of information about who did what to the carburator but somebody must have screwed with the float pisition for this to be happening . The way all carburtors work is the same you have the float bowl and the floats and on top of the floats is a valve called the needle valve. Now the neddle valve is there to stop the flow of fuel into the float bowl when the engine is not in a high damand cycle for fuel like start up or ideal the choke shuts the air off and gives more fuel at start up .However when the engine is running and the float bowl is being filled by gravity feed from the gas tank the floats will move up do to the amount of fuel in the float bowl and should shut the fuel from the gas tank off to the float bowl until the engine can burn the fuel and drop the float level enough to make the neddle valve open again to supply more fuel for the engine to run correctly its a never ending cycle . You need to adjust the floats and likely clean the carburator don't mess with adjustments there mostly automatic when the engine is running

The digital timer skips 9 minutes out of the wash cycle. After starting the normal 140 degree wash cycle (46 minutes) the washer will start and wash normally until it has counted down to 41, then it...

hi shotgun - sometimes the mieles with auto adjustment functions do make changes to the wash time - usually based on a smart sensor technology.

Unfortunately I have no data or information for your particular model, I have info on earlier & the latest models only. In hindsight what this function does is adjust water levels based on the load weight or amount of the wash, the computer then calibrates the water levels and accordingly the amount of time to wash.

Eg - 4 kg load would be longer than say a load 1.5kg to process - if can understand this concept. However I cannot be 100% certain it applies to your particular model, if the user manual is availbel it may just pay to read thru in case it applies to the washer.

Not sprayer engine stop

This is an indication that the unloader not working properly. When you release the trigger the unloader senses the increase in pressure and bypasses the water into the water inlet. When the unloader is not working and you release the trigger, the water pressure builds quickly and overcomes the power of the engine shutting it down. Here is the manual for your machine, http://www.pressurewashersdirect.com/manuals/Simpson_WaterBlaster%20manual_2.pdf

and some information about troubleshooting from the manual.
"Not Unloading. Leak in Gunvalve or Hose. Repair gun leak . Replace leaking or broken hoses. Debris or wear in Check Valve. Remove Check Valve parts and clean. Check O-Ring. Reface with emery cloth, or replace checkvalve. Damaged Piston U-Cup. Rebuild Unloader Valve (Service Center)."
Usually when the unloader fails the pressure regulator will most likely need to be replaced as the unloader is usually incorporated within. For now try lowering the pressure some and just tie the trigger open untill you can service. Good luck.

Honda GX160 runs fine for 5 minutes then dies like out of fuel.

I would look for the fuel filter. Blow it our. I know you have a new tank of gas, but you might want to empty it out and make sure the clean and put in new. Even with Stabil in the gas you might just have to much condensation in the tank

Washer powers down during wash cycles

It is most likely a very slow fill problem ,either the cold or hot water supply is restricted and the machine cannot sense the right water temp. and will shut down .

Machine cannot wash properly with a small amount of water.

Ckeck ,the screens in the water valve or at the hoses at the top where the faucets are ,clean them or replace them but never leave them out .

Whirlpool duet sport washer powering off during spin cycle

I had this problem with new duet sport washing machine. Service was out to fix under warranty (4 trips!) replacing water sensor and boards. Finally checked outlet and was told no neutral. ?? Charged us for that visit since not covered. Plugged into another outlet and it worked. Had electrician in, replaced original outlet (although saw no sign of bad connection) and washer worked again! Yippee until today when I had the same issues. Tried in another 2 outlets and still shut down after a few minutes (and in those few minutes it never really ran as it should) Went out to get an outlet sensor ($8 at hardware store). Plugged in and found no errors. Started washer again and it did run and completed cycle. Although estimate 1 minute of final spin cycle took almost 25 minutes (on QUICK wash no less!) Will have to monitor. See if we get lights on outlet sensor next time washer doesn'twork, see what other things in house are running, etc. (although washer on dedicated line). ONLY change since this happenned: We replaced our 30 y.o. electrical box. You'd think this would be better???
