Question about Winchester Model 94 Short Rifle .30-30 20 Inch Barrel Deeply Blued Wit

2 Answers

Hello, I recently aquired a colt 1866 repeater. It is in perhaps a ^0% resolve, missing screws and the hammer is locked to the rear. I'd like to find a parts list and an owner's manual. Can you help?

What identifies the caliber? I'd like to bring it to a functional status, At-least mechanical.

Are you sure this a Colt and not a Winchester?
Calibre should be marked on the barrel or the action somewhere. There are special Colt and Winchester Forums online. Parts are available. The condition of the barrel with decide whether you can fire it or have it as a wall hanger.

Please reply back as a COMMENT.

Here is the info that makes me believe it is a Winchester.

Hello! Dan Busa with Dish Netywork here intermittent signal loss like that is usually caused by some sort of glitch a hard reset ( unplugging it for ten seconds ) will usually resolve this. If your signal strength is at or above 80 that should be fine, but keep in mind you need good signal strength on both the 119 and 110 satellites ideally you should be at 70 .

Cannot get oil plug off of oil pan to change oil

Hello, dont mean to sound rude but double check to make sure your on the right screw. The screw should be towards the bottom of the oil panpossible at a slight angle to drain the oil. No special tools are needed normally a socket set will get the job done not exactly sure on the size. Try some locking pliers, lock it tight as possible around the screw and tap on the the handle with a hammer or somethin solid. I recently had the same proble with my oil pan screw thats how I got it off. Replace the screw once it comes off. Hope this is helpful.

Chuck is locked open

you have three jaws in your chuck, one of them will probably have a small burr on it causing it to stick.

try this...

tap the chuck with a small hammer then try to use the chuck key gently in the opposite key hole to the hammer blows. turn chuck though 120degrees and repeat.

if this does not work chucks are fairly universal and easily replaced (i would recommend a keyless jacobs). you can get the old one off by removing the ph2 (phillips) machine screw inside the centre of the chuck... be careful!! this screw is usually soft and counter threaded... when screw removed bash off the chuck with a hammer and cold chisel...

good luck

IBM 6400 missing decimal...

is there print missing??? if so the hammer fret in that location probably (90%) needs cleaning as dirt can get between the fret, it only takes the smallest amount of debris to stop fret working, you need to remove hammer bank to do this, fairly simple to do just lots of screws. the only thing to check when reinstalling hammer bank is that you pull it towards you ( front of printer ) before tightening the 3 screws, this is to be sure the gap between hammer bank and platen is roughly correct. there are 2 small grub screws at each end of platen to adjust this gap if you need to.
