Hi Charles,
Your Tv has entered the demo mode. There is a code to cancel it. But I do not have it. Try resetting to factory settings. Or search 'viewsonic tv flashing different colours' on fixya. There are many solutions for various brands.
Good Luck.
Try a hard reset to this set, and check. There are two types of reset to TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight; will be better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Service mode entry, adjust and exit procedure to many popular brand TVs are given. Never forget to exit the service mode, after all adjustments have been done.
Factory Reset your TV. Then follow through setup again. If you cannot auto channel search, then your tv tuner is toast. Time to invest in something new
If you select "source" on your remote then enter 7343 it will bring up a factory menu. Go down to 'Other setting' , the setting 'scaler output' should be set to "Normal". This setting flips the display.
Hi dennisreno,
You should be able to set the tv back to factory default settings from the menu.
I will see if I can find the user manual and give exact directions.
Let me know if you find the reset.

I just got a 42" komodo by Sceptre, same problem, except "SCEPTRE" showed on the screen. I was sent a USB key program to insert in the service slot in the back and it reflashes the bios. This is old news for you but maybe new for someone?
