Appears to be a software problem. Unfortunately, some blu-ray players contain software that expires, requiring you to repurchase newer, more expensive software from the manufacturer in order to continue to play blu-ray discs. Check your software for the player. No freeware blu-ray software out there.

In players with network interfaces please check via the firmware update function whether you have loaded on the current firmware, and if necessary apply an update. For all players you can find the current firmware at http://firmware.denon-online.eu.

If you still can't solve it and if your laptop is equipped with Blu-ray drive, you can You can s some Blu-ray player program so that you could play Blu-ray discs on your laptop or PC.

SOURCE: LG super blu player won't play blu ray disc

Have you updated the firmware on it? I had a similar problem with a Sony blu-ray player and I had to download an update and burn it on to a CD then allow the CD to update the blu-ray player. What's the model number of your player, I may be able to get a link to the update for you.

SOURCE: Pioneer DBP-51FD Blu-Ray

I bought mine four days ago and it would not pay the new James Bond Blue-Ray. The screen said your player needs an update. I downloaded the firmware, and it still did not work. I took the disc down to Best Buy and it played fine on an identical DBP 51-FD. Their tech came out with a replacement player and it played fine. Now, however, it will not play the DVD Happily Ever After 2, eve after the firmware update. Strangely enough, the other player played that DVD fine.

In other words, take it back and get another one.

SOURCE: our blu-ray disc player bdp-s300 won't play newest blu-ray

You will need the following:
1) Internet connection
2) Wired router
3) long enough ethernet cable to reach from your blue ray player to the router.

Step 1:
Eject any disks and turn off the blu-ray player by unplugging it.

Step 2:
Attach the ethernet cable to the router and the other end to the ethernet port on the back of the blu-ray player.

Step 3:
Turn on the blu-ray player and wait for it to load all the way.

Step 4:
Using the remote, arrow over to the left to "Setup", the up to "Network Update".

Step 5:
After the unit updates and restarts, repeat until it tells you "Already Updated".

That should help you play the newer movies, and even some of the older ones.

SOURCE: A new "Tangled" movie disc not play in Blu-Ray

As newer bluray movies come out they are constantly tweeking the format. More then likely you need to update your bluray players firmware or software. There should be an option under the menu for the bluray player to update the unit of course this will require that you have it hooked into the internet via ethernet cable or wifi network.

My denon dbp 2012 makes an awful buzzing/vibrating noise when playing some discs, any ideas how i can fix this?

I have the same player, it was doing the same thing. The reason is because it was faulty, so I sent it back and got it repaired. It played some discs with no problem, but made a noise and in a lot of cases couldn't continue past a specific chapter on the disc.

Hi have just bought a panasonic blu ray player model dmp-bd77 here in australia we have put in a b/ray dvd from the usa that plays perfectly but when we have put in another american dvd(not blu ray a...

Every blu ray or dvd player sold in the world comes as standard unlocked to play any disc from any region. On the fifth play of a disc the DVD or Bluray will become locked to that region. So if you play 5 USA dvd's on the player after the fifth disc has been played only US dvd's will be recognised by the player, Same applies to BLUrays. So if i were you i would be careful about what discs you are putting in the player. Otherwise you will be left with a bluray player that cannot be used in Australia. After that happens the only way to play other region discs would be to get the player unlocked. Another point to add , a blueray player has two lasers one to play bluray and another to play DVD's. Lasers can fail so you could be able to play DVD's but not Bluray or vice versa depending on which laser has failed.

My Denon DVM-1800 says no disc what do I do?

I have had the same thing happen with my blu-ray. I have tried cleaning the disc; the lens, occasionally with success. flashing the bios. also known as update of the system [can be done online {if equipped} of mine also has a usb port {download the correct file to a USB drive and re-power DVD with the drive in place}]. if these things don't work try manufacturer tech support. I had mine replaced because it wpould NOT flash. good luck.
