Trying to copy video from pc to kindle and don't have drivers installed for kindle.
I am using a conventional usb cable and it can't install kindle drivers. I don't have the original packaging. Where can I get the drivers for my device?

For DRM free eBooks, you can easily transfer them to other Kindle devices with USB cable freely. You just need to simply plug your Kindle to computer with the USB cable, then there will be a removable disk, open the disk and find the books you want to transfer to other Kindles, then copy them out to your local drive. If your Kindle (any version) is not charging because the USB port has gotten loose, try this...wrap a small piece of aluminum foil around your USB connector - the end that plugs into the device. Be careful not to extend the foil past the end of the connector, you don't want to damage your device. Plug the cable in to the outlet and into the Kindle port as usual, then watch the orange light come on!
Kindle charging ports get worn out over time, the foil is a great conductor and makes a solid connection. Obviously, you'll want to try a different cable first, but if that doesn't work, this is free and easy!

Didn't update in time? Do a manual update
At this point, you'll need to update your device manually. It'll require you to grab a USB cable and do the install with your Kindle connected a computer. Here's how:
Go to Amazon help page, find your device and click the link in the neighboring column to download the update. Use the above instruction to find out which software your device is currently running. In some cases, you might need to download and install more than one update.
Plug your Kindle into your computer. Once it appears as a drive, drag and drop the update file to your Kindle. (Not a subfolder, just the top-level Kindle drive.)
Eject your Kindle and disconnect the USB cord.
On your Kindle, go to Menu > Update your Kindle. Your Kindle will let you know when the update is complete.
You will need to manually install the latest software update for your device in order to resume normal functionality.

To manually download and install the latest software update:
Turn your Kindle on and connect it to your computer using the USB cable.
Drag and drop the software update file from your computer into the Kindle drive. Important: Do not drop the software update file into one of the folders within the Kindle drive.
Monitor the file transfer. After the file has transferred successfully, eject the Kindle to safely disconnect it from your computer.
Disconnect the USB cable from your Kindle and your computer.
On your Kindle, start the software update:
From the Home screen, select or tap the Menu icon, and then select Settings.
Select or tap the Menu icon again, and then select Update Your Kindle.Note: This option will be greyed out if the most recent update was already installed or if the file transfer was not successful.
Tap OK to perform the update.Note: Your Kindle may restart multiple times during the update. Your may also see Your Kindle is Updating on the screen.
Once the update is complete, your Kindle should automatically restart and you should once again have access to the Cloud, the Kindle Store, and other Kindle services on your device.
You can easily load all of your books onto your new Kindle. Amazon retains a record of all your book purchases in an archive. When you register your new Kindle (and turn on wireless) it 'phones home' to Amazon and Amazon places an entry on your main menu entitled Archive. Just click on that entry and all of your past book purchases will appear and will automatically be downloaded to the Kindle when you click on them.
However, if your old Kindle contained any books, pictures, or documents that you did NOT purchase from Amazon, those items will not appear in the Amazon archive. You will have to download those items to your new Kindle the same way you installed them on the old Kindle. If the only location of those un-archived documents is the old Kindle, then this will become a two step process because you cannot copy from one Kindle directly to another. Instead you must copy the documents off the old Kindle onto a computer using the USB cable, and then copy the books from the computer onto the new Kindle by way of the USB cable or by email using an authorized email account. (To authorize an email account for sending books to your Kindle, please visit Amazon's "manage my devices" section. If the new Kindle is not registered, or if it is blacklisted, then you cannot use the email method to transfer the books. The only way to install books on an unregistered Kindle is directly via USB cable.)
If you have the 3G model of Kindle then you can download books using 3G which is like you would use with a mobile phone.
If you don't have 3G then you will need to connect to a WiFi network in order to download books directly to the Kindle. See the Connecting With WiFi Guide for details of how to do so.

Please clarify: what charger did you use to connect to an outlet? The Kindle 3 comes with an USB cable to charge from a PC or Mac computer and no charger outside for many countries outside the US (for other countries an external charger is available from Amazon as optional accessory). Use of a different charger (e.g. mobile phone charger with USB connector) is not supported, not recommended and may fry your Kindle if a wrong voltage is hooked to it.
Things you can try:
Use a different outlet to charge the Kindle.
If you use the supplied USB cable to connect to a PC, make sure its
firmly seated on both ends. Connect to a powered USB port directly on
your computer. Some external USB hubs do not come with a separate power supply
(external power supply is mandatory for an USB 2.0 hub, some cheap
models are sold without one anyway) and are not suited to charge
anything. Just to make sure, disconnect any other USB device except mouse / keyboard to check if the USB port in use is not burdened by too much drain.
The Kindle power LED should glow amber while charging and green if the device is fully charged.
Give the Kindle a reset pressing Home --> Menu --> Settings --> Menu and select
"Restart." If the charge light is on but the device is still not charging, contact Amazon customer service.
If the charge light does not light, the AC adapter or cable needs to be replaced.
