No hdmi audio output except Roku 2.

I have a cable box, Blu-ray player and Roku 2 plugged up to my apex TV. I can not get audio from any device except the Roku. I have swapped inputs and cables but no luck. The other devices will play audio if it is plugged up via rca. I can't use rca audio and hdmi video because as soon as I plug up the hdmi I no longer get audio from the rca. It is set pcm. I do think K of what is different about Roku audio.

You didn't mention whether you switched inputs on your TV for the different devices. Fix could be that simple.

SOURCE: Incompatible Disc in Sharp BD-HP21X Blu-Ray Disc Player

I had the exact same problem as you did... I bought the Sharp Aquos 42D85X which came with Sharp BD-HP21X Blu-ray Disc player. could not get brand new blu-ray movies to play and i found it froze everytime after 10 secs. I phoned sharp who basically were no help watsoever! I then went and returned my blu-ray movies back to the store thinking it was a problem with the discs.. The people there were extremely nice and since they had a display model of the BD-HP21X instore they offered to test the movie on it to veroify whether it was the blu-ray player was the problem or not. Turns out its a fault with all of the BD-HP21X models. So we then ended up returning it back to the store we bought it and exchanged it with the older model (BD-HP20X). I now have no problems playing blu-ray movies. Although another suggestion is to perhaps download the lastest firmware update & see if that resolves your issues.

SOURCE: APEX Digital VCR&DVD PLAYER ADV-3800 will not play DVD's.

What it so far done, it looks pretty fine. I'd break apart the problem if is posible to do it, i mean maybe you have some other sets around the house or some friend who have them.

  • i'd test the dvd/vcr in a different tv
  • i'd test the tv with a different dvd
i would start over again the installation after this test.

the reason is to know if you can trust in those sets and second maybe with some other try the installation works

SOURCE: I put a regular dvd into my blu ray player but it

Assuming it will play regular DVD's I'd suggest you connect it by scart also and set your TV input to scart.

I don't think DVD's carry High Def. data, that being the case, your player may auto route the data via scart.

I have red, yellow& white come out my dvd and only white & red plug in on the back of my tv how do i make that work and which source and channel i put the tv on

Red and White are audio, yellow is video. On the back of the TV there should be a yellow jack if it takes external inputs. There are two ways to connect your Blu-ray Player to your amplifier. Via HDMI output: Connect the player's HDMI OUTPUT to the corresponding INPUT on your amplifier using an HDMI cable. If your amplifier has an HDMI OUTPUT, connect that to the HDMI INPUT on your TV using an HDMI cable. See if these links help.

How do I hook-up Netflix through a Sony Blu-Ray player and a LG television

If your Sony Blu-Ray player and LG TV are recent models, each should have an HDMI cable connection. HDMI is an method to connect your digital video and audio devices with just a single combined cable. In the case of your LG TV, using an HDMI cable will allow you to send the HD video signal to your TV's screen, and allow you to hear the sound through the TV's speakers.
Your LG TV may have multiple HDMI connectors, to allow other devices to send signals to your TV, such as a cable box or satellite box or digital video recorder (DVR). Your Sony Blu-Ray player will usually have just a single HDMI connector.
Purchase an HDMI cable from your local electronics store. There are different versions of the HDMI specification, and you should get a cable that you can verify is certified for the HDMI version 1.4 specification.
Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the Blu-Ray player, and the other end into one of the HDMI connectors on the TV, noting which one you selected.
When you turn on your Sony Blu-Ray and your LG TV, you should use the remote for the LG TV to select the input source. Your LG remote should allow you to select the HDMI input connector you used, at which point you should see the display of a DVD playing on the Blu-Ray player. If you cannot hear the sound, use the LG remote to increase the TV volume.

The DVI adapter stops the audio. Use the audio out ports on the bluray player to connect an audio pair cable to the tv.

Blu ray connect to my sc-pt660

as far as hooking up your blu ray player to the sc-pt660, the only real way to utilize the surround sound (with true surround sound) is through the optical audio out. You need to connect your blu ray player through hdmi to your tv and then connect your blu ray player to your surround sound using the optical audio out/in. I, personally have the sc-pt660 hooked up through component cables so I don't waste an HDMI input on my TV. Except for cd's, there is no reason for you to use the actual dvd player part of the surround sound considering you have a blu ray player. In conclusion, hooking your blu ray player and the sc-pt660 up to get better video simply isnt possible (your blu ray player alone gives the best possible resolution, 1080p). As far as audio goes, run an optical audio cable from your blu ray player to your sc-pt660 to get true surround sound.

Remove the HDMI cable (out) to the speakers from the receiver.
Connect regular speaker wire from the receiver to the speakers.
Of course, remove the (now extra) HDMI cable from the tv.
That will remove the loop.
