Vizio from BJ's, a year and a half old. Watching TV, I heard a very quick buzz then the screen went black, no sound, no picture, will not turn off. This was a week ago, It took 3 days and 4 calls/ ending with leaving messages to vizio for anyone to get back to us. The people at vizio are worthless. All they could do for us was give us a number to a seperate repair company who charged us $25 for a phone interview, and said we have 2 options. 1.It MIGHT be the mother or audio board which would cost $600 plus labor. or 2.Send it out of pocket to Calofornia for company repair. I mean not only were they extremely rude but they serioulsy expect us to send a **** giant tv, they may or may not be able to fix to CA from Boston? They also said they have NEVER had this same complaint and it must be our fault. wow. Sure glad we purchased 2 additional Vizio TV. Any luck with anyone else?
I had the same issue happen to my vizio lcd just this weekend. Everyone is telling me is a bulb or backlight or something. It would explain the loud pop and no picture, but I'm not getting sound either so I'm not sure what exactly happened. Only after about 2 years too. I'm trying to find parts to just fix it myself.
same problem here! 2 years in the making and my tv takes a dive.screen blacks out with popping sound, dead, would not power off. I did discover one thing,i laid it down flat in my basement to figure out my options.two months later for sh*ts and giggles, pluged it up.to my surprise it worked couldnt believe it. so i took it up stairs to watch,i would say about an hour later same thing happend out like a light! weird!! Not good tv's just my opinion! somethings over heating inside!
