Sometimes the sensor ion the door switch goes bad and causes this producible. I've had the issue, and unplugging the machine for a few seconds clears the error for me, but I suspect I will eventually have to replace the switch in the latch.

GLTF1240ASO Front Door Won't Lock/Close

Most probably your door lock is damaged. You are not supposed to force it open, you have to wait for at least 2 minutes (or till the lock sign is off) after the wash is over to open the door, never force it.
You can just google your model number and search for parts to obtain it. It is quite possible you can change it yourself. See that the line is disconnected from the mains.

I start the dishwasher and it does nothing and lights do not turn on either

When your dishwasher won't start, it could be a problem with your electrical panel or the door might not be closing properly.

Check your household electrical panel for a tripped breaker or blown fuse. Also check to make sure the door latches closed properly.

For additional troubleshooting steps you can take and things you can do, read Dishwasher won't start for more suggestions. I hope this helps!

Why is my frigidaire washer not spinning?

  1. Stopped Mid-cycle
    • If your Frigidaire washing machine started spinning, but then stopped, verify that the power cord is still connected to the outlet. See if the outlet blew by plugging in a different appliance into the outlet. See if you blew a fuse. A blown fuse usually is either black or has broken wires. Replace the fuse. If you have a circuit breaker instead of a fuse box, reset the circuit breaker if it's been tripped. Check the lid switch, which is located inside the main housing of the washing machine, near the door frame. If the switch is burned out, order a new part from a Frigidaire parts dealer.
    Pump
    • The pump's sole responsibility is to remove water during the spin cycle. If the pump isn't working properly, see if it's clogged with debris or clothing. Use needle-nose pliers to remove these items. Check the pump pulley, which is connected to the pump. This component must move freely for the pump to work. If it won't turn, purchase a new pump pulley since you can't usually fix this component.
    Lid
    • Check the door latch assembly if the door isn't closing correctly. If any of these components are broken, order a new part from a Frigidaire parts dealer. If you do not, the washer won't start spinning since it believes the door isn't closed. Your Frigidaire washing machine won't start the spin cycle until the lid or door is closed. Always close the lid, and remove any items preventing the lid from fully closing. Always close the dispenser drawer.
    Additional Concerns
    • Never over- or under-load your washing machine. Your Frigidaire washer may not enter the spin cycle if the load is too large, since this can damage the washing machine. Remove a few pieces of clothing. If the load is too small, add a few similar items to the washing machine. Check the internal belt, drive motor and motor coupling. If any of these components are broken or very worn, they may not work properly, preventing the washer from entering the spin cycle. Order replacement parts from a parts dealer. Check the tub and basket bearings, and get new ones if the current ones have broken components or are defective.

Sony dcr-dvd408 can't open the access door to get the tape. I hear cliking but it won't open

This can be due to failure of the loading motor mechanism . Since you are hearing the clicking sound , it is possible that the motor is working to the command from the processor but there is failure in the mechanical drive., This can be due to pulley slipping , gear failure or belt failure.
Unless the camera is opened to remove the covers and get access to the mechanism , the exact fault cannot be confirmed.

My mother accidentally pulled the door open on the washing machine when it was still locked. Now it won't do anything. It would not even finish the cycle. We were able to get the clothes out and...

Due pulling of the door forcibly the door interlock switch has damaged. So the door cannot lock properly &r the door lock switch is not functioning. Replace the door interlock switch.

My Liftmaster GDO makes a clicking sound and won't open

See if the trolley is jammed against the bolt just in front of the motor unit. If so remove the bolt and then run the opener until the door is closed. While the door is closed locate the 'up limit' control which is on the side of the motor unit. Turn this control 2 complete turns in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the cover. Remember to replace the bolt.

When I start my Bosch Axxis machine - I purchased it used - I do not hear the water start and the cycle isn't starting.

When you close door properly and press start does the door latch? If not possibly the latch is the problem. If it doesnt give a normally closed condition, the micro processor wont continue.
