SOURCE: I am fixing a sansui

ive seen this happen before on sansui a/v amps , seems they have an accessory outlet on back that triggers with power switch (for other items power) well sometime in its past someone plugged something larger than the 500 watts its rated for (ac) load into it and now the traces on printed ckt board are fried , on yours id bet if you look carefully at bottom of main ckt board right in area that power cord connects to it , you have a similar problem , me I fixed mine with a little piece of used solder wick to bridge the gap in traces

So you're saying ac doesn't get very far into the unit. THAT should be easy to diagnose with CARE since ac is usually passed unmodified to the fuses and power supplies, maybe through a relay. Get a digital voltmeter and find out where it disappears after getting into the unit.

Sansui RZ 8300 AV Receiver will not turn on flicker on and off. Power turns on but when the standby button pushes in it just flickers on and off.

Hi curtmalm

First, do a rest on the unit by disconnecting from the wall overnight. Then fire it up again to see if it recovers. Let me know here how you go.
