Kenmore elite refrig Model 795.75542401
Hi,
Thank
you for contacting fixya.com. DH means defrost heater and
refrigerator computer is not sensing the defrost cycle. It is due to a bad
defrost sensor located on the evaporator behind the plastic cover in the back
of the freezer compartment. You need to replace that.

Don't
be intimidated by this repair... The
'erdh' error code indicates - error defrost heater. Replacing the controller is EASY. The difficult part is removing everything in
the freezer section to access the evaporator coil but hang in there and stay
with it. You will not hurt anything if
you use common sense.
The
new part (defrost controller) is relatively inexpensive ranging $10 - $14. Here in the SouthWest I used Appliance Parts
Depot for a $10 part cost. Don't forget
to have 3-4 small wire ties to secure the defrost heater, defrost sensor and
wires.
It
would help to write down a few notes of some of the particulars during
disassembly.
I
had the same ERDH error code, and my refrigerator began to warm up. I replaced
the defrost thermostat assembly part # 6615JB2005H which is located inside the
freezer, on the right side behind the white plastic panel.
(See
Diagram Image) I accessed it by removing the freezer door, all components
inside the freezer, including the slide rails / tracks mounted on the sides of
the freezer. Be careful when removing the rear white panel because an
evaporator fan is mounted on the back of it and plugs into the back left side
of the freezer compartment. You just
saved yourself about $375 or more.
Stay
With It & Good Luck!
