It drains water out for no reason. Starts, and within 4 min the tub is empty, soap and all.

I hear it fill at beginning. I hear water in there. But then it starts cycling and getting loud. I look and no water inside. I have checked the drain hose and there is a loop in it taped to the back of the tub. This is a front loader

The tube seal is leaking or an electro valve is stuck open most likely. It may be time for a repair person, the Maytag man may be needed unless you have a big assortment of tools and the skill to take this washer apart, if you do let me know and I will try and find instructions on teardown and inspection.

You are lucky you got 6 years of service out of this type of washer, I stick with top loaders because they last 20 years or more.

As far as help goes if an expert knows what's wrong for sure they would've answered. At this point maybe a local technician is needed.

Why does My Samsung VRT front loader leave the soap dispenser full of water at the end of the wash cycle. I have to empty it in order to add detergent for the next wash cycle.

there are 2 components to the soap dispenser, 1 using liquid soap has a little tub that you dispense soap into and 2nd you remove the tub when using powder soap. I assume that you are talking about the little tub is filled with water. How this works is by adding water to the tub the level rises and siphoning empties the little tub. If any water remains it is due to water being added after the little tub has already emptied. That is not a big issue and will happen. Just empty the water or add some water to start the syphon process.

5d code not a sud issue

Hi,

This code is a suds error, but can be caused by slow drain, or foreign objects in the pressure hose to the pressure sensor to detect if and when your tub is empty to spin. Fill the wash basket with warm water (hot you can), add a 1/4 cub of cooking oil to deactivate any soap within the unit, spin out and try and see if this code comes back. You have have to change the sensor to the unit to fix this issue. Good Luck

I have a GE toploader washer. The model # is WBSR1060T (VVSRV1040V, & YVSR1040V were also on the washer too) the washer keeps filling to the max setting no mater what the water level is set on, also...

Remove the front panel of the washer by using a putty knife to release the retaining clips, located in the seam between the front panel and the washer's top, about 2 inches in from each side. With an empty wash tub, remove the small hose on the left side of the outer tub and clean out the inside of the hose. Replace the hose. Test.

Black type residue being left on clothes

Hi there,

This is a common problem on washing machines, if you predominantly do cold washes.

Over a period of time, a washing machine will accumulate a buildup of Soap Scum (excess soap & softener residue) which can stick to the inside of the drum.

This black coloured soap scum occasionally breaks away from the drum, and attaches to the clothing fabric during the wash cycle.

You can rectify this, by doing the following:

Firstly, purchase a packet of CITRIC ACID from your local grocery store (usually found in the baking isle).

Do the following procedure before going to bed:

1) Do a HOT WASH without clothes (Hi water level, with HOT water) - allow machine to fill with hot water, then add the CITRIC ACID to the water. Allow the machine to complete a FULL wash cycle (i.e. allow machine to agitate for 30 mins or so, then drain).

2) Fill the machine again with the HOT water / CITRIC ACID solution, but this time allow it to sit in the bowl overnight (no cycle).

3) Next morning, set machine to spin & drain (i.e. to empty the solution)

4) Set machine to fill with FRESH HOT WATER ONLY (no citric acid), then set machine to spin & drain. This will flush all remaining residue left in the bowl.

Note: Soap scum residue is caused by using excess detergent/fabric softener. Hot Water flushing should be done every 6 months.

Contrary to what the detergent manufacturers state, you should follow Samsung's instructions by using HALF the recommended detergent.

Samsung machines prefer LOW SUDS, and you may find by reducing the amount of detergent used, you may even eliminate the buildup of soap scum.

He2 front loading washing machine leak at the soap dispenser regi

If you experience a problem where the washer does not drain properly or the drain pump makes excessive noise, here’s the information you need to check the drain pump:

Symptom: PUMP IS RUNNING, BUT NOT DRAINING PROPERLY.

1. Unplug the washer while servicing inside the unit.
2. Remove the lower kick panel under the door by removing the three 7mm screws under the bottom edge of the panel. HINT: Use a couple of blocks of wood to prop up the front feet of the washer to gain better access to the screws. Once the screws are removed the panel should drop down, and then pull off. If the panel becomes stuck, a slight tap on either side will dislodge it.
3. Locate the drain pump. It will be located directly under the wash tub (it is the only pump this washer has).
4. There is an access removal cover on the pump that can be removed to clean out the trap. BEFORE doing this, it is strongly recommended that you remove all residual water from the wash tub & drain line or you will have about a gallon or so inside your washer and on the floor to clean up.
5. Here’s a helpful way of quickly removing the residual water. If you own a wet/dry shop vac, remove the drain hose from the standpipe at the wall and pull a vacuum with the shop vac. This will empty the wash tub, pump and drain lines. If you don’t own a shop vac, grab a bunch of old towels and open the access on the pump slowly so that it comes out at a trickle. Allow the towels to soak up the majority of the water. Close the access and stop the water if you need to get additional towels.
6. Open the pump access and remove once you have all the water drained. Check the drain pump for foreign objects and debris. Check the pump impeller and make sure there’s nothing caught in it. Items as small as toothpicks or cotton swabs have been known to stop this pump from working.
7. Clean out the pump thoroughly and reinstall the access cover. Make sure the cover is snug, but do not over tighten.
8. Place the drain hose back in the standpipe (IMPORTANT – DO NOT FORGET!).
9. With the bottom panel still off, plug the washer back in and select the following on the operator console – DRAIN SPIN, NO SPIN, and then press any button under OPTIONS 4 times (it must be the same button). “C00” will show on the console display as the washer begins diagnostics mode.
10. Check the drain pump for leaks as the washer fills. The pump is gravity filled and will hold water even it is not pumping. Allow washer to run through diagnostics until it begins the wash tub tumble cycle.
11. At this point, you can stop the diagnostics procedure by pressing PAUSE/CANCEL 2 times. The drain pump energizes and the washer will begin to drain.
12. If the drain pump works normal and there are no leaks detected, reinstall the bottom panel and tighten screws.

NOTE: It is normal to have residual water left inside the wash tub under the wash basket. This is why it is important to leave the door ajar when not in use so this water does not become sour.

Frigidaire (LTF2940E) Washer starts, stops, starts, stops...

The cycle doesn't advance When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

  • It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

  • It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

Fisher & Paykel DS605 starts cycle, stops, beeps, shows U3 error.

U3 means the tub filled to quickly or the water failed to drain. Do you have very high water pressure? are you using the wrong detergent? eg you can't use tablets (powerballs) etc in the unit. Try putting half a cup of white vinegar in the tub to kill any foam. Check there isn't anything stuck under the motor rotor inside the tub and the there's no signs of damage. Put the drain hose in a bucket and see if the water drains ok when the unit starts? If everything seems ok I'd suspect the main motor controller module but it may be worth getting an appliance tech to inspect unit first as it's hard without seeing this unit. feel free to ask any questions. Cheers

Dishwasher runs but does not get dishes clean

1.) Confirm that the holes of the spray arms are not blocked with debris.
2.) Run a short cycle with an empty dishwasher and no dishwasher soap. Run the dishwasher until you hear it finish filling with water and begins the wash cycle. Add up to two cups of white vinegar to the water and allow to wash and drain. Feel free to do the same when the dishwasher fills again.
3.) Only use a brand name powder detergent (e.g. Electrosol or Cascade) in any dishwasher. Do not use a gel or tablet in any dishwasher. Do not fill the dispenser fully.
Test your dishwasher with a standard load of dirty dishes.
If problems continue, confirm that the heating element is working properly. The heating element is vital to getting clean dishes with modern dishwashers and DW detergent.
Please report back what you find.

probable cause is there is an article of clothing that is stuck between the outer and inner tubs, in the area where the dispenser water and detergent enter the machine. you can run your hand around the rubber boot and you might be able to remove the article, it will be in the upper left part of the machine. if nothing can be found than you have a plugged up dispenser hose.
