What can cause this issue

I have a Milwaukee m12 impact driver and I absolutely love it the torque is comparable to my 20v dewalt unfortunately the last couple of days I can not get my batteries to charge the charger shows the solid red light indicating that it is charging unfortunately that's the extent of it I can leave it on the charger for 8 hours and if still only shows the red light and put on the impact it gives me the same charge level as when I put it on the charger

If the battery is older than 1 year replace the battery with a new one , also I know its difficult but try to not charge a battery till its dead , short cycle charging of battery's kills em fast if battery is less than 1yr contact Milwaukee its still under warranty

Testimonial: "The impact was new at Christmas time last year I do not short cycle charge the batteries I run them until they will no longer turn the screws but will still barely turn the Chuck with no pressure and this is happening with both of the batteries that I have and happened at the same time very odd"

My dewalt impact gun dcf885 when I press trigger the motor starts then dies

Mick, this could be a sign of a worn out/faulty motor, mine did this, ripped it apart and it was the motor. Yours may still be under 3 year warranty if you can find your receipt.

Thank You for the response.I guess I need a air Impact wrench instead of the DeWalt Electric

Or compare before with 18Volt Milwaukee FUEL impact wrench on Li Ion Battery [ try before you buy ] its having very much power.
But if you have work the whole day job the best choise for long lasting air tools

Take it back to the store where you bought it. If the warranty will not replace it, buy a new one.

Milwaukee 1/4 " impact driver has flashing red light

on the m12 impact, when you look in battery well or after opening 3 wires for to battery connectors, check the whites soldering and how many wires are actually soldered in the whites line ... just fixed buddy's who had exact issue and only 3 strands were soldered, stripped about a centimeter more and soldered back on and boom issue solved.
