Kenmore 700 series dryer instructions on reversing the door

To reverse the door on a Kenmore 700 series dryer, you can follow these general steps:
  1. Gather the necessary tools: You may need a Phillips head screwdriver, a putty knife, and a small flathead screwdriver.
  2. Unplug the dryer: Before starting any work, ensure the dryer is unplugged from the power source for safety.
  3. Remove the hinge cover: Use a putty knife or a small flathead screwdriver to carefully pry off the hinge cover located on the opposite side of the door.
  4. Remove the door: Locate the screws that secure the door to the dryer and use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove them. Carefully lift the door off the hinges and set it aside.
  5. Remove the strike plate: On the opposite side of the door opening, remove the strike plate by unscrewing it.
  6. Remove the door hinge: Unscrew the door hinge from the side it is currently attached to and transfer it to the other side of the opening.
  7. Install the strike plate: Attach the strike plate to the opposite side of the door opening using the provided screws.
  8. Reinstall the door: Place the door onto the new hinges and align it properly. Insert and tighten the screws to secure the door to the dryer.
  9. Reinstall the hinge cover: Snap the hinge cover into place on the side where the door hinge used to be.
  10. Test the door: Close and open the door to ensure it operates smoothly and securely.
It's important to note that specific instructions may vary depending on the exact model and design of your Kenmore 700 series dryer. Therefore, it is recommended to refer to the user manual or installation instructions provided by the manufacturer for detailed and model-specific guidance on reversing the door.

Jenn-Air model JES9750AAW. Oven door squeaks, especially when oven heated. Have tried to lubricate hinges with high quality turbine oil, teflon wheel bearing grease, powdered graphite, and WD-40. Not sure...

If your Jenn-Air model JES9750AAW oven door is squeaking, especially when heated, it could be caused by a variety of factors. Here are a few suggestions for fixing the problem:
  1. Check the hinges: Make sure that the hinges are not bent or damaged, and that they are securely attached to the door and the oven. Tighten any loose screws, and make sure that the hinges are properly aligned.
  2. Lubricate the hinges: If the hinges are not damaged, try lubricating them again, using a high-quality lubricant specifically designed for oven door hinges. Some examples are silicone lubricant, white lithium grease, or PTFE spray lubricant. These lubricants are heat-resistant and can withstand high temperatures.
  3. Check the door gasket: The door gasket is the seal that runs around the edge of the door and helps to keep the heat inside the oven. Make sure that the gasket is not damaged or worn, and that it is securely attached to the door. A damaged gasket can cause the door to not seal properly and cause the squeaking noise.
  4. Check the door handle: Make sure that the door handle is securely attached to the door. If it is loose, it can cause the door to not sit flush against the oven and cause the squeaking noise.
  5. Call for service: If none of the above solutions work, it may be necessary to contact a professional technician to take a look at your oven and diagnose the problem.

I have preloaded the replacement hinge, but it appears that to remove the old hinge it must be unloaded. If that is true, how do you load the new hinge while it is on the door?

Ovens come in many varieties including freestanding units and stacked models that are inserted into a wall. Kitchen oven units that get a lot of use or are getting old may have problems develop, such as a loose or squeaky door which may require replacing the hinges. You can replace the hinges on the door to your oven by first removing the door from the rest of the oven.
jQuery('.intro .thumbnail').each(function(i,e){ jQuery(e).find('img').one('error',function(){ jQuery(e).remove(); }); }); Difficulty: Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need:
  • Screwdriver
  1. Step 1 Open the oven door and examine the hinges to see how the they are secured to the door. Some oven doors slide into the hinge assembly or have a locking mechanism that secures the door to a latch on the main unit.
  2. Step 2 Remove the door from the oven by disengaging the locking mechanism and then pull the oven door out. You may need to release a catch on the door or remove a pin from a hole in the hinge.
  3. Step 3 Place the door on a flat surface such as a table or the floor.
  4. Step 4 Remove the screws that hold the sections of the door together to access the hinges.
  5. Step 5 Remove the hinges from the door. The hinges may be attached to the door with screws or they may be held in place when the door sections are tightened or secured.
  6. Step 6 Insert the new hinges into the door and secure them with the screwdriver or place the section of door back on. Tighten all of the screws securing the sections together.
  7. Step 7 Place the oven door back into place by sliding it on the same way that it came off.

Can't find any instructions - can I reverse the door from the left side to the right side?

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly. The answer is YES you can reverse the door.

Here is the text of how to reverse the door:

DOOR ASSEMBLY & HINGES
The door assembly is reversible. It contains an inertial vibration damper comprised of a steel plate suspended with springs. The
damper is designed to tune out excessive vibrations generated by the machine during the spin cycle. Replacement inner door liners are
shipped with the vibration damper in place.
REMOVAL
1. Open the door and remove the center screw of each hinge secured to the inner flange of the front panel in the door opening.
2. Grasp the door with both hands and lift the hinge area slightly. Draw the door assembly away from the machine. This will disengage the hinges from the slots in the
front shroud (Figure 5-1). If the hinges bind, press out on the plastic shroud near the hinge toward the cabinet.
Figure 5-1
REVERSAL
1. Repeat the above steps and, remove the corresponding sheet metal spacers on the opposite side.
2. Remove the hinges from the door and relocate them to the other side of the door.
3. Remount the door into the new slots and secure with one screw into each hinge.
4. Mount the sheet metal spacers onto the side where the hinges were previously to cover the hinge slots in the front shroud.

That is the text without the whole service manual pictures.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Faceplate of door by lower L/H hinge cracked. How do I remove the door to replace the Faceplate?

Front doors are attached inside the microwave at the top and bottom of the oven cavity. Top case has to come off using, likely, security torx screw drivers.
Remove the top hinge.
Remove the bottom hinge.
Door falls off.
Replace the front panel of the door.
Reinsert the lower hinge with the door, close and latch the door.
Holding the door firmly to the microwave, tighten the door hinge. Replace the top hinge.
(On some units, both hinges need to be installed at the same time. Use masking tape to hold the lower hinge - makes it easier.)
