My son put a pattern lock on his tablet and he cannot remember what it is so we are trying to reset it so he can get back on it but to no prevail

Look for a small hole usually in the back and often not labeled. Use a paper clip to press the recessed button in it. This will delete all data on the tablet.

There is no real way of removing the pattern lock unless you do a full factory reset by going into recovery mode. If it is rooted you can restore a previous back up. But the factory reset will delete everything from the phone.

Hi J ....it sounds like you will need to do hard reset.this may be due to the latest app you installed or a failed update from google.
first... Switch off the tablet.....second hold the power button and volume up together for at least ten seconds....third let the tablet do what it does till you see the android robot with red triangle....wait....then input from the menu offered ....usually you will need to reset the tablet to factory install.this is a pain but in future disable auto updates if you can.. Tell it to let you manually install.once you have the tablet back sign into you google play account.that should remember your purchases and help you reinstall .unfortunately you will lose all the private info and pictures.for what it's worth if you do decide to make another pattern draw it on some paper and photograph on another device.please vote if this helps you.have a nice weekend.

hard reset by recovey options

well that happened to me but i went on this website where you can reboot the whole tablet to take off the password and it still keeps all the data you stored on the tablet.

I fear a factory reset is your only option. But that's not much of an issue if you use Google backup as everything will be downloaded again when you first log back in to your google account.

what you can do is call the company and they may be a ble to reset it for you over the phone because the same problem happened to me once with my phone and they were able to reset it from there computers.

My son put a 9 point lock on his tablet and does not know the unlock pattern. I have done the reset button so many times and need to get back to the factory settings. Can some one help me figure this out? It has been locked for 4 weeks and im loosing my mind trying to unlock it.
