How do I Scan from a C2020?

In regards to scanning from a Canon ImageRunner to a Mac, this used to be done via SMB. But then Apple modernized the SMB protocol in Lion & Mountain Lion & Mavericks, and Canon decided to remain in the dark ages with their old-fashioned SMB protocol support. So therefore, Canon ImageRunners are now incompatible with Lion (OS X 10.7) & Mountain Lion (OS X 10.8) & Mavericks (OS X 10.9) & Yosemite (OS X 10.10) & El Capitan (OS X 10.11) for scanning via SMB.
The solution is that we now have to use the FTP protocol for scanning, when scanning from a Canon ImageRunner to a Mac running Lion (OS X 10.7) or Mountain Lion (OS X 10.8) or Mavericks (OS X 10.9) or Yosemite (OS X 10.10) or El Capitan (OS X 10.11).
To use the FTP protocol, you first need to enable it on your Mac by going into the Terminal and typing this command:
sudo -s launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ftp.plist
After enabling FTP via the Terminal, go into the Sharing system preference. Enable File Sharing in the left margin. Add the shared folder where you want the scans to end up. We usually like to create a folder on the Desktop entitled "Canon Scans", so you can just drag this folder into the list of folders. Click on the "Options" button to make sure that AFP is enabled, but you do NOT need to enable SMB.
Now you can go into the Network system preference where you will need to manually assign a static IP address for your machine. The Canon ImageRunner will need this static IP address so that it can find your Mac.
Once you've done all of the above, you can now create a new "one touch entry" on the Canon ImageRunner printer to scan to the shared folder on the Mac.
To do this, click on the physical button on the copier that says "Additional Functions", then press "Address Book Settings".
Then, on the Canon ImageRunner screen, press "One Touch Buttons".
On the next screen, press an existing name to edit it, or press a numbered button to edit a new name. (You can scroll through the pages with the arrows on the right.) You must press the "Register/Edit" button to add or edit that button.
If you're adding a new button, then on the next screen, you'll have to press "File".
Then you'll be taken to the next screen. The information to type in is the following:
Name: Give the button a name
One-touch Button Name: Give the button a short name that will fit on a button.
Protocol: FTP
Host Name: The static IP address that you assigned to the Mac. Do NOT use any special characters or slashes... just enter the IP address.
Folder Path: shared folder name. The trick to this is that you have to give the path from the starting point of the home folder. So if the shared folder is named "Canon Scans" and it sits on the desktop, then type in this file path: "Desktop/Canon Scans" (without the quotes).
User: the full account name of the account which owns the shared folder.
Password: the password for the account which owns the shared folder.
And that's it! You are now all set to scan from your Canon ImageRunner to your Mac!

Device does not recognize delivery server

this device does not support scan router v2 lite.
your best bet would be to set up using SMB scan to folder.
set up is pretty straight forward create a folder on the root of C: ie C:scans
share the folder with full permissions, simple file sharing has to be turned off!!
then go into the device web page using the IP address ie: 192.168.xxx.xxx.
go to configuration and smb create a user name ie: bill then point the device to the computer you created the folder on, ie: bill's pc/c:scans
save the configuration log out of the web utility reboot the device and you should have succesfully created an smb folder share.

if this resolves or answers your query please rate me accordingly
good luck and thanks

SMB Scanning - Virtual Server envirnoment

Hello,
A quick fix for that would be to enter the fix IP adress instead of the host name, or to check if the host name on the SMB server is correct, and reboot the SMB server.
A good help is to do that from another PC to check if that works:
ping the IP adress try to connect to smb://IP_adress_or_hostname
If that works on the PC, there's no reason that it shouldn't work for the scan

Xerox 7328, error 018-543 Shared name error in server

Prerequisites:
  • The printer must be connected to the network.
  • The IP address of the printer is required.
  • The HTTP option must be enabled on the printer. To obtain the IP address or to confirm if the HTTP option is enabled, print a Configuration Report. See the Related Items below for additional information.
  • A user account for the scanner must be created (account needs full control access rights).
  • A directory to be used as a repository for the scanned files must be created. The directory must then be shared.
  • The Hostname of the workstation must be known.
Scan to File is set up in several steps:
  1. The first step is to make sure the scanning service is enabled on the printer.
  2. The second step is to set up the scan file repository.
  3. The third step is to create any necessary templates.
  4. The final step is to configure the template with the required settings.
NOTE: This solution assumes Microsoft Internet Explorer is being used as the web browser. Other web browsers may vary.
  1. Make sure the SMB port is enabled. Print a Configuration Report to verify this setting. See the Related Items below.
  2. Open an Internet browser window.
  3. Enter the IP address of the printer in the Address field, and then press [Enter] on the keyboard. The CentreWare Internet Services window will be displayed.
  4. If prompted, enter the username and password in the fields provided, and then click [OK].

NOTE: The default username is "11111". The default password is "x-admin" and must be entered in lower case letters. If the username or password has been modified or forgotten, contact your System Administrator.

  5. Click on the [Properties] tab. The Properties options will be displayed.
  6. Click on the [+] next to Services on the left side of the window to expand the options.
  7. Click on the [+] next to Network Scanning.
  8. Click on [File Repository Setup]. The File Repository Setup window will be displayed.
  9. Click on [Edit] in the Default File Repository section. The File Destination screen will be displayed.

NOTE: A maximum of five file repositories may be configured. Generally, just the default repository is configured for scan to file.

  10. Select [SMB] from the Protocol menu.
  11. Enter a descriptive name in the Friendly Name field.
  12. Enter the IP address or Hostname of the computer where scanning will be setup in the Hostname / IP Address & Port field.

NOTE: The default SMB port is 139. Generally this port number does not change.

  13. Enter the Share name in the Share field.
  14. If necessary, enter the scan path in the Document Path field.
  15. Click on the [Prompt at User Interface] or [System] radio button from the Login Credentials to Access the Destination section.
  16. Enter the scan user name in the Login Name field.
  17. Enter the scan user password in the Password and Retype Password fields.
  18. Click on [Apply]. A “Settings have been changed” message will be displayed.
  19. Click on [Reboot Machine]. A "Do you want to reboot?" message will be displayed.
  20. Click [OK].
  21. Close the browser window.
  22. Test scan to file using the default template. See the Related Items below.
  23. If necessary, create scan templates.

KM-1820 scanner setup

The KM-1820 to scan to PC is using SMB, FTP or e-mail.

for SMB:
I am assuming you have the KM-1820 connected within the network and a static IP address for it.
open any Internet browser and go to KM-1820's IP address.
You should see the Command Centre web page.
Go to Basic page and add/register a contact within the Address Book.
Give a name and at the SMB section field, fill up with your computer hostname or the ip address of your computer where you want to scan. Fill up the user name with the local user name - the one what you are using to get into your computer - or create a new LOCAL user for your PC lets say "kyocera". So for SMB will be your computer and username: kyocera. (You will need a password for that computer user (kyocera) ). Then create a folder "scan" where you want ot receive the scanned files and add "scan" at the path field (SMB section of that webpage - command center).
Now share the folder "scan" as "scan".

if you want you can always use the scan to e-mail !! but you need a smtp server. All the settings can be done using that command center webpage.
