How do i know if i need transmissn fluid

Put a bit of it on a white napkin, if it's brown in color, change it. If it's slightly pinkish-brown, it's still ok. If it's pink, it's still good. I would suggest using only the OEM specific tranny fluid to avoid any issues with proper lubrication. It may cost a little more than equivalents but this is something you don't change often.

1990 Chevy GMC Suburban alternator wiring

Well, according to my diagrams for 88-94 models, the alternator only uses the red and brown. There are pink-black wires that power some of the sensors and solenoids but should go to a fuse marked ECM in the fuse box.
Have you tried hooking up the harness without using the pink-black wire ?

My hoover washing machine wont spin and is full of water. model number is hnl 9146-z

It's a safety feature that doesn't allow the machine to spin when there's still water in the tub. The drain pump has probably failed and you would need to replace it (there are some good places online where you can buy appliances spare parts). Try to set your machine on a 'Drain' cycle and see if the pump works.

How do I check for 120 VAC at the drain pump? I know where the drain pump is, Im just not sure how to check for 120VAC

First you need a voltmeter

Set that to AC volts in the 200v range

Clip the black or blue lead to the earth post (thats the one with all of the green wires clamped on it)

Put the red or brown wire from the meter onto the brown or red wire of the pump (For safety you need to use an alligator clip or spring clip tipped probe to make the connection)

Switch the machine on to the pump cycle and you should read 120v .

Unless you have an electrical background I would not recommed that you work inside a machine which is live.

Connecting motor part

Hi Charlotte,  Yes, colour coding of wires is a nightmare, isn't it!? Red and brown both signify "live", and blue and black both signify "neutral".  So you should connect brown to red, and black to blue. I hope this is helpful. If you need more guidance, please post here again and I'll see what more I can do for you. I value your feedback, so please remember to rate my response. Good luck!

Re sent wire diagram gat all messed up

Hi
have we spoke before in previous post?
the red can go to any 12v live peramanent such as wire to clock or other item that has power with ignition off and the same with the yellow if your putting these to the same permanent live say from clock you can join these to together red/yellow to red on clock
the black can go to any metal or neg wire.
This should then have your device working the only problem im looking at for you now is the pink wire as this stops you using the device whilst driving as it goes to handbrake but i need to find out if its live or negative.
You could just wire the red/yellow to live and black to earth then see if it switches on and works if not then let me know and ill see about the pink wire ok
Makes sure you use inline fuses on the live wires so as not to short the device out.
Make sure you know what is permanent live to put the yellow/red wire to.
It doesnt need to be ignition it only says this so you cant use it with ignition off but you can wire it into any live feed from clock or switches so its up to you what to wire it to its just the pink wire im concerned about.

PINK: does it tell you to put it to live or earth on handbrake switch?

let me know ok
