Make sure the connections are not loose. May have to tighten or resolder connections in the amp itself.

Harman Kardon AVR 25II no sound from left channel

Sounds like the left channel has blown in your AVR 25II. If it was a faulty headphone jack it simply wouldn't send an output signal to the speakers.

Wiring for the arm head where the needle goes. Wires were unplugged by accident now not sure how to plug them back in. Rockola sybaris 474.thanks

Thee is a standard wiring connection for stylus cartridges. Looking at the rear of the cartridge, there are four connections. With the stylus point down, starting at the top left and moving clockwise:-
White wire - Left channel out (10 o'clock)
Red wire - Right channel out (2 o'clock)
Green wire - Right channel ground (4 o'clock)
Blue wire- Left channel ground (8 o'clock)

Alternately the connection arrangement could be in a vertical line with alternate pins staggered. In this arrangement looking from top to bottom it will be :-
White wire - Left channel out ( Top left)
Red wire - Right channel out (Second right)
Blue wire- Left channel ground (Third left)
Green wire - Right channel ground (Fourth right)

I hope this helps

What does left and right channel mean for a receiver

The left channel goes to the speaker on your left, and the right channel goes to the speaker on the right. The two are slightly different in order to give stereo sound.

Four wires coming from needle to cable, two are shield and two are left and right channels. Which color goes where

Actually it's not to hard to connect them. All you need is a stereo record where you know a sound of something is on the right or left channels. I use to have a Goodies LP where a one of them would say "bounce to the left" and the other said "bounce to the right" these coming on the respective channels.
To set it up just stick the red (right) on one of the cartridge pins and white - left on the opposite side - not underneath it. Then connect the other two to the pins below them. Play your test record. And if the sound which is supposed to be on the right channel come on the left - swap the two red and white wires around.
If the sound sounds (tinny spaced) out then swap the same side wires around.
So if you have say Red Green, Make it Green Red. If it is tinny only on one channel, don't switch the other channel around.
For example the right is tinny - do the above - but leave the other White Blue.
By the way some cartridges do have L and R marked on them and + and - for the channel types. " -" being for the green or blue wires.

Pls send me a connection diagram of how to connect my dbx 215 graphic equalizers to a powered mixer

ftp://ftp.dbxpro.com/pub/PDFs/Manuals/English/dbx2SeriesManualA2.pdf It's all in there. Here is a little extra guidance. if you are getting your left and right channels out through RCA you will need a RCA to 1/4 in adapter Radio Shack carries them relatively cheap. If it's already 1/4 or XLR skip this Left goes into Left in, Right goes into Right in. Then work backwards Right comes out of Right out, Left comes out of Left out. channel 1(left in) and Channel 2(right in) of your powered mixer. you should be set.
Good Luck, Cody J.

Akai am-u01 righthand channel sounds distorted/blown please can you tell me what components on the board to check/replace the left channels fine i have allready re-wited most of the board but cant single...

You can try swapping the speakers over to see if the fault goes to the other channel. Remove the speaker leads from the input on the right channel and put them into the left channel input after removing the leads from those terminals, and if the fault goes there as well, then the problem is in your right channel speaker

Left channel goes on and off.

Well, if messing with the RCA cables affects the problem what does that suggest? Have you tried swapping the Left with the Right to see if it follows the cable or stays with the component?

Kenwood Receiver KR-V127R - left channel not working

Select an input that is not connected, for example select CD with no cables going to the CD input on the backside. Will you then hear equal humming on both channels? If so, the amp stage is ok,
and the problem lies in the signal level circuitry.
Open the cover and use a plastic (insulated) stick to touch suspectible cables and components. When the sound returns, you've found the cause. Resolder or reseat the component/cable/card.
Use the insulated stick, NOT your fingers!
