gabehart....sounds like belt is slipping. Replace it. The water pump is on a separate smaller motor so is not affected by the agitator/spin motor.

hi thanks for the question so your saying your tub is full of water ,did it stop in the middle of the wash cycle or at the end of the wash if its at the end of wash and it doesn, drain then you have a lid switch problem . if thats the case reset your timer as if you want to start a new wash load if it starts to wash your timer is ok replace the lid switch

It could be the lid switch or the timer.

SOURCE: Kenmore Washer/Dryer Stack -- Need to replace Washer

first of all. comming from a Sears Technician.. (don't yell) -- the delivery drivers only know about delivering stuff. they dont know too much,
if the two are the same size they can be stacked.
sometimes have to rig something up
and yes, for that model the top is removed, clips go on the rear and screwed at the front.
in some areas it is sold seperatly as a stacking kit

My kenmore stacked washer/dryer has a wash cycle that can last for 12 hours. it will ultimately finish and clothes will be cleaned properly but it takes long breaks during the cycle.

The time it takes to do a cycle is determined by the washing machine timer. That is driven by a clock motor. This is an older machine so what is happening is that the motor on the timer is stopping and starting. A replacement timer is sold only as a complete assembly. I'm fairly sure you washing machine does the best job in the world in cleaning cloths.
Hope this helps,
Best,
