There's Really nothing u can do Check to see if he has the code written down somewhere, Otherwise bring it into the apple store they can fix it then ur son can make a new code and write it down!
do this: when asked again for the pass code, press 'select' button--> 7444 --> enter new pass code --> re-enter new pass code it should play the DVD. hope this helps :p
