To obtain the best results, several factors must be taken into consideration. Traditionally, for taking pictures indoors the use of flash was mandatory, but nowadays with increased sensitivity in cameras, this can be largely dispensed with.
The first variable is the ISO rating - for indoor use by ambient light, this needs to be at lease 800, possibly as high as 2400 - as you have given no indication of the equipment used, all answers must be a little vague, giving guidelines rather than strict instructions.
Next is to adjust the White Balance - there will be various settings depending upon the type of lighting in use. Old-style lightbulbs are tungsten, whereas more modern tube lighting is fluorescent, and they possess different colour temperatures. Choose the one appropriate to the light source.
Finally, to ensure as much light as possible reaches the sensor, do not stop the lens down to more than f5.6.

I think the camera is working fine but is limited in night photography, in order to get the results you want you will need a better camera that is equipped with the necessary technology to get results you are after. I suggest going to camera store to speak to the attending sale man that can answer all your question and help pick out a suitable camera for the job.

I have a pentax optio A30 with 2.0 gb card. I took pictures last night of my grandsons birthday and was viewing them in the camera as I took them. Tonight I went to put them on my computer and i get a...

I hope you didn't format the card because that erases the pics forever. You could get a separate card reader and try to download them that way. You could take the card to a store like Walmart and plug the card into one of their picture making machines. When your pics show up, you can print them or even make a cd of them.

My sister took my camera out with her to a convention, then when I was about to take a picture last night, the screen was strongly tinted bright pink and when I take a picture, it's tinted green and pink....

If the camera was exposed to very bright light it is possible to have the CCD/imager damaged , There can be a resetting, remove battery off for few hours and set.
If the fault stays it will be better to seek an opinion than to open the camera.

My camera screen is black.

If the new pictures are all black, then the problem is not on the LCD display, but it is a faulty CCD sensor.

The CCD image sensor is the device that captures the picture .

CCD sensor is covered even after warranty, contact canon ringing the phone number listed on the owner manual.

You problem set your camera to use internal memory only. Set the memory function to memory card only and all pictures will go to the memory card until it is full. You can probably still transfer your pic files from internal memory to your card.

Kodak md853

hi! my sister-in-law gave me a MD853 camera last week from Canada. I used it over the weekend when we went on a trip and the pictures and videos i took were great. Last night, my daughter took a picture of me and when she took a picture of her brother, there was only white on the screen...like a moving white sheet with colored edges. I thought she destroyed it or something. I tried to use it but now the screen is all black...last night only the video worked but this morning everything is black. The other programs in the camera works so i suspect the problem must be in the lens. I'm in the Philippines and if I send it back to Canada for repairs it would just take a long time and it will be expensive to send it back. What can I do? I really love this camera... help!!!
