I have a proform treadmill that makes a high pitch whirling noise that get louder the faster it goes. Sounds like it is coming from the motor, not the bearings. Suggestions?

Either the drive belt is damaged or the belt is out of alignment due to worn motor shaft bearings.

Testimonial: "The belt looks great it really sounds like it is coming from the motor"

Sorry new to this so I posted in the wrong place. Again, sorry. The belt looks great and the noise seems to originate at the motor.

I would agree the motor is the problem.

The roller is not difficult to replace, it is also no really expensive.
Part number is #219035 it is around $80 from the manufacturer.
The phone number to order the part will be found on the model/serial number tag on your treadmill.

My Epic 425 is getting louder and louder, a whirring noise, but can't seem to find maintenance help

Hi,

It sounds like you have a drive motoer failing. The only other place that can be load or making noise is the front and rear roller. The rollers bearings when failing make a "popping" or "clicking" noise, and increases as you speen up. The motor "growls", and the faster you go the noise is..... well loud. The way to confirm this is to remove the motor hood, then start the treadmill on power/speed level 3. Be very carefull, and use a broom stick (wooden) to put on the drive motor while it is running. You should be able to "feel" what you are hearing. You should then raise the speed, and you will then feel the increase as well.

The replacement motor is around $200.00.

Hope this helps

Making more noise when it is running. Did not make so much noise before.

If the noise is coming from the walking belt this could be due to sand or grit getting under it. These belts are big electro-magnetic generators. The attract sand and grit to them. Usually it will make a high pitched sound when there is sand under the belt, especially if there is a mylar or plastic sheet under it. If this is the case the sheet can easily be replaced.

Proform 400GI Treadmill making a very loud noise, which is worse when using speeds between 2.7 and 3.1, noise is so loud can't hear tv when turned up to full volume. It makes the noise without anyone...

This definitely sounds like the drive motor. One way to check is to remove the drive belt and run the motor without the walk belt connected. Obviously if you still have the noise it will be a motor issue. If not then it will be one of the 2 rollers. Good Luck! Tim

I have problem with my Proform 575. The motor rotates but the runner does not turn. There is a squeaky noise. Solution please.

It sounds like the belt is slack there should be an adjustment at the rear of the belt at either side of the treadmill usually a hex stud or allen key, if that doesn't help check the drive belt that comes directly from the motor which could also be slack or damaged.

Whirling Noise

Sounds like fuel pump pressurizing the fuel system. They do that for 2-3 seconds and then it stops (for fuel injected vehicles).
