You can try these:

1. Force Restart iPad:
Hold the Home button and Wake button at the same time for about 10 seconds. Your find your device vibrating and get out of the iPhone boot loop.

2. Try an iPhone system recovery software
If your iPad cannot be force restarted, TunesKit iOS System Recovery is a wildly accepted tool to make your iPad back to normal with almost every problem solved.

Can't get my iPad to turn on! Have tried pressing the button for a long time, still not turning. What else should I do to get started?

In order (stop if one works):
1. Recharge at least an hour from power adaptor rather than USB computer lead.
2. Reset by holding down Sleep/Wake button on top right of tablet while at the same time pressing down home button. Keep both depressed 15 seconds. If slider appears or screen dims, keep pressing till Apple appears.
3. Restart (display not working) by pressing and holding Sleep/Wake button till power off slider appears. Drag slider to right. Wait 2 minutes. Press and hold Sleep/wake button till Apple appears.
4. Recovery Mode. With device powered down, hold sleep/wake button down and drag slider to off position. Then plug USB into a computer (do not have usb cable connected to iPad yet) running latest version of iTunes. Hold down Home button while plugging USB cable into iPad. Keep Home button down until Connect to iTunes appears. If does not appear, start Recovery Mode procedure again. When Lightning cable, arrow, and iTunes appears, release Home. Click OK to restore to factory defaults (erases data). Restore data from earlier backup. (Summary of method from Phone Cruncher site.)

How can I delete my data from an iPad 2 whose display is black & unreadable?

Hi David,
I think this will help you please refer to below steps:

  1. Make sure the iPad battery is charged above 20% ( we would recommend at least 40 - 50 %). If you are not sure charge you tablet for at least 30 -40 minutes.
  2. Make sure iTunes is not running on your computer but is ready to be run.
  3. Temporally disable firewalls and other security software to prevent interference with iTunes.
  4. Make sure your tablet is disconnected from the dock or USB data cable that equips the gadget . Nevertheless USB cable must be plugged into your PC or MAC.
  5. Make sure your PC or MAC is awake and its screen saver is turned off.
  6. Simultaneously press and hold down the Wake/Sleep button and the Home button and wait until "slide to power off" screen appears. Don't do anything after its appearing, just keep holding Wake/Sleep and Home buttons until Apple tablet will power off.
  7. Release the Wake/Sleep button once Apple tablet is off , but continue to hold the Home button
  8. Holding the home button, connect the USB data cable to iPad. When you reconnect the USB cable, tablet should power on and you should see a message on your PC/MAC display saying that iTunes has detected an iPad in Recovery Mode
  9. After you detected this message, release the home button and press OK on iTunes pop-up to confirm the restore option.
  10. Do not touch iconic tablet and you computer while iTunes downloads and installs the fresh copy of firmware on your iPad. You will be notified by iTunes when iPad is successfully restored, but... in a while, you will get an message saying that the iPad isn't recognized. Don't panic. This is because all user content on iPad including activation status was erased during restoration.
  11. Disconnect iPad from iTunes ,unplug from computer and turn off.
  12. Turn iPad on and using iTunes activate it on any computer you have. Apple currently allows up to 5 computers to be authorized for each iPad.

How do i restore my password disabled ipad?

You can enter the recovery mode in iTunes and restore password on your disabled iPad. Just follow below steps to do that.

If you've neither synced with iTunes nor set up Find My iPhone in iCloud, you'll need to wipe your iPad to factory setting to remove the password, which means you'll suffer losing all your data on iPad and get it as a new one.
Please pay attention there is a slight difference in putting different models of iPad into recovery mode.
iPad Air
  • 1. Turn off your iPad Air, press and hold the Home button.
  • 2. While holding the Home key, connect the USB cable to the device. Wait until the Apple logo appears and keep holding the Home button for few more seconds.
  • 3. Continue holding the Home button until the iTunes logo appears.
iPad mini/iPad pro
  • 1. Connect your iPad to your computer or laptop and open iTunes.
  • 2. While your device is connected, force to restart it.
  • 3. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. Don't release when you see the Apple logo. Keep holding both buttons until you see the recovery mode screen.
Now you have entered the recovery mode, and

1. When you see the option to Restore and Update, click it.

2. Wait for the process to finish. Then you can set up and use your device.

My ipad is stucked.

This tutorial will explain how to force your iPad to restart if it gets stuck or freezes up.
Forcing your iPad to restart will not cause any loss of data - with the possible exception of any work you were doing at the time the iPad and/or App froze, forcing you to restart it.

Click and hold down the Sleep/Wake button (located on the upper-right corner of your iPad). While you're holding down the Sleep/Wake button, hold down the Home button as well (located on the front of your iPad at the bottom). Hold down both buttons until your iPad powers off. It will reboot and start again with a small silver Apple image on the screen. It takes about 30 seconds for the iPad completely start up.

IPad shows blank black screen & won't turn off ~ how do I fix?

Try reseting the iPad by holding the home and power buttons simultaneously until the iPad completely shuts down and the Apple logo appears.

Once the Apple logo appears you can release the buttons. If this does not work, you may need to connect your iPad to your computer and do a factory restore using iTunes.
