Probably the same fault again
call a technician to properly diagnose the fault and a quote and if it is the same fault , consider replacing the unit with a more reliable machine
a money saver here is to run the unit through a surge protection unit as program boards are subject to failure from any power surges
SOURCE: evaporator coil freezing, replaced main control
It is possible you have a defective fan motor in the condenser area or evaporator area. Sometimes when they become defective they will run for a while and just warm up and stop while the compressor continues to run. I learned that one on four costly returns to the home. The cost was to me not the customer. Thanks, Sea Breeze
SOURCE: Viking VCRB 364 LSS Refrigerator will not cool
return air ducts are freezing up in the freezer they are behind the rear wall of the freezer, unplug and defrost these ducts with a blow dryer for now , viking has a duct heater retrofit that will solve your problem, good luck

You have a bad main board. Call LG customer service for your options.

re: then freezer completely thaws and refridgerator warms to 50+ degrees. If the unit is cooling, then the compressor is starting and working.
More than a compressor it can be a problem with defrost system or with temperature control.
The following parts may be responsible, testing of thermostats precision at different temperature is quite difficult.
Defrost:
thermostat-bi-metal - freezer defrost thermostat, part 620 in diag.
Tested reading Ohms, if open replace, tested checking it it does open at limit temp, if it is shorted, replace it.
Check also condenser and defrost fan fan and defrost heater. Fan tested energizing it and heater reading Ohms, if open replace. Check the thermodisks, those are high limits, they may also be shorted if they do not cut off.
Temperature sensing:
sensor (temperature sensor) - part 241 in diagram.
(determines fridge temp- test is done starting fridge with sensor open and shorted)
Check also the compressor overload (overload/relay).
I dont think this is faulty, this is simply cutting off because of overload caused by temp control.
If all the above is OK, then there is a problem with electronic temperature control, the compressor motor is pumping.
Ensure that main pcb is grounded properly.

Here part list.
