Web version of the Whatsapp called web.whatsapp can be installed on pc. You can chat using the pc instead of the phone.
step 1. go to https://web.whatsapp.com/ on your PC.
step 2. launch whatsapp on your phone.
step 3. touch the top right icon of 3 dots and then on whatsApp Web
step 4. place your phone in front of the large QR code with its rear camera facing the pc screen.
step 5. Press scan on phone.
step 6. you may have to move your phone little forward or backward to see entire code
Remember the web.whatsapp will work only as long as both the phone and pc are on internet.
