I believe a took a spike through the Ethernet connection during a thunder storm. (it fried the DirecTV LNBs) I do to think it is related to that as my other 3 TVs in the house are fine. It was only the 2 with a direct Ethernet connection to the Cable Modem that are having the issue. One TV the red standby light is on and the other the red light is off. I verified there is power to the back of both units. I opened the 60" TV and I do not see any obvious damage to anything. Any insight on which board to replace would be greatly appreciated.
The tv have problem with its mother bord. As it have Smd components it's not possible to repair it. You have to replace the Board. If you wish to get some details about television repair then check the following link

Just so we are on the same page, you say the motherboard - The one with all the input connectors or the one with the power input connection?
