Panasonic high def plasma tv Model number HT-42PX75U .. tunrs on then after 30 minutes or so shuts off .. last night i turned it on it stays on red no picture..

Choose connections on the Panasonic that match those on the player--

Do you have on the player Component outs(blue,green,red and 2 audio which are red and white? This ought to give you the best picture and sound.

Other inputs to the set must match the ones coming from the player--Most owner manuals have a lot of details here.

If the player has 1080 output hook to a similar input on the set.

Some advice here: make the connections between units with both turned off.

well it sounds like something fried inside the tv. In my experience, this sounds like your y-sustain board went bad. it could be your video board also. considering todays value of the 50" panasonic plasma, it will be cheaper to replace it, unless you are willing to spend around $300 to get it fix at a shop.

Unfortunately your going to have to have it serviced by an Authorized Panasonic Dealer. Independent shops will not be authorized to order parts without the consent of Panasonic. They are rough to deal with.

7 blinking Defective Board (possibility)

the connectors SC2(*2),
and SC20 to the SC board. Remove the SU board. Turn the TV on. Does the TV power up

and stay on? IF YES REPLACED SD BOARD

Your powerboard is damaged, and need to be replaced.

Sometimes it appear the TV is working again with no problem but it is only a matter of time for the board to get completely damaged.

re program remote codes 018,016,007,049,067,074,076.
you have to take your remote settings to default

This sounds like a shutdown circuit proble, which is caused by the draw of excessive current. I would suggest that you have a qualified TV repair person look at you set and repair it.

Well, first your model number is the 42 inch, but I digress...

I had a similar problem with a Viewsonic 27 inch, with the blinking power light on a failed power-up. It turned out that replacing the power transformer was the ticket. However, as I have the 50 inch Panasonic plasma, I know that the transformer is built into the set itself. I'd still suggest that this is what needs replacing though, as this is different from a set being on but having no picture.

If you open the back,look at the can shaped items.If any of them have the tops bulged out,they need to be replaced.This should solve your picture problem,unless there is something else wrong.What is happening,is they are heating up,and the picture goes out.I bet the longer you have the TV off,the longer it stays on?Hope this helps.Thank You very much!
