Umax Astra 5600 scanner will not work with Windows 7. You could try and use it in an XP Virtual machine

I have notebook acer aspire 5741g and window7, ATI Mobility Radeon and I have no problem. Now I want to work Windows XP. I look for compatible drivers.
I would suggest that you download and install the FREE XP mode for Windows 7. That way you can easily move back and forth between Windows 7 applications and XP applications.

You can also install the FREE XP virtual machine on your Windows 7 and have an XP computer on your Windows 7 computer. Works great and much better than Dual Booting. I

If Windows 7 is working with no problems on your Windows 7 installation your ATI Mobility Radeon will function fine under either XP Mode or a Microsoft XP virtual machine.

I have replaced my windows xp with windows 7 and my tigerwoods 06 won't play. and it did with windowds xp.
Download the FREE Windows 7 XP Mode, install it, then reinstall your software in XP Mode following the XP Mode Application Instructions. Another alternative is to use the FREE XP mode virtual machine under Windows 7. You can then load software that is compatible with XP But not Windows 7 in the XP virtual machine.

I have encountered a problem while installing Windows XP over Windows 7 on my laptop Compaq CQ62-410-US
Most likely you will have problem trying to install windows XP in a windows 7. It is better to use a virtual machine on your windos 7 instead. Windows XP mode will not work on a Home edition of Windows 7. you can download the Virtual machine in this link: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=4580
Once you have downloaded and install this run it. then install the XP on this mode by -run the virtual machine -go through the setup -insert the installation disk -wait for the installation is complete
Then every time you will run the virtual machine it will go to the XP that you installed.

It says it cant start or run do to incompatibility with 64 bit versions of windows....any way i can make my mission think game work? :/
The Learning Company Super Solver Mission T.H.I.N.K. was released in 1999 for Windows 3 and probably Windows 95/98. It could run under XP in the compatibility mode.

For a newer Windows OS, you need a workaround. You can use a a computer (virtual, dual-boot, or true second machine) with an older version of Windows installed. If you have Win7 Pro or Ultimate, you can create a virtual XP computer for free. Download and install Virtual PC and XP mode from Microsoft. Install them in order. Then install the XP software in the virtual computer using the compatibility mode and it should work. (Other virtual computer programs are Parallels and VMWare.) All of the other options will require a licensed version of the older Windows OS. If your computer has a USB keyboard and mouse, you will need to use Win98 or newer OS. (However, the drivers may be an issue with Win98.)

For the compatibility mode, right click on the installer and choose Properties. In the compatibility tab, check the box for Run as compatible with an older version of Windows. Then launch the program.

Is plustek opticpro 31 windows 7 compatable?
The OpticPro A3I is not Windows 7 compatible. (It wasn't compatible with Windows XP and they did not add support for the newer OS.) The OpticPro A320 and A360 are compatible with Windows 7. Support for the newest OpticPro A3 models is available here: http://plustek.com/usa/products/opticpro-a3-series/ .

If you have one of the other models in the series, please let me know. I suspect the OptiPro A3-U will be best under Windows XP in a dual boot, stand-alone or virtual computer.

You can run an XP virtual computer for free with Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate. Download and install Microsoft's Virtual PC and XP mode. Then install the scanner to the XP mode as if you are using a normal XP computer. The other options require a licensed version of XP. Virtual computers have one issue; they can not share files with the main computer directly. You will need to save files to external media (CD or flash drive) to transfer them.

Were can i get windows 7 64bit drivers now
hello,

there are no windows 7 64bit drivers for this epson LQ 2170, this printer will not work on a computer newer than windows 98 and possibly windows 2000 and maybe windows xp. this printer will not work in newer computers.

if you have any additional questions let me know.

consider buying a new printer.

My favourite programme - Print Artist 4 which has worked with all my computers up to and including XP will not work with Windows 7 - what can I do?
It means that this application is not compatible with Vista or Windows 7. If you have Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate, all you have to do is run the app in XP mode, which is really running an XP virtual machine inside of Windows 7. Just look in Windows help for instructions on how to do it. If you have Home Premium or less, they do not have XP mode. Instead you can download Virtual PC 2007 SP1 from the Microsoft web site for free, install it, then create a virtual machine that uses XP. You will have to have a licensed copy of XP to install on the virtual machine. Then install PrintArtist on the virtual machine and you are ready to go. You can use the virtual machine and Windows 7 on the host system simultaneously and can even exchange data between the two.
