Leaking washing machine

Need more information. What type of leak (fast, slow, seep, etc.), when does it leak (when it is filling, draining, all the time, or don't know), and where is the leak coming from? If water runs out as fast as it is filling, you may have a drain hose that is ruptured or has disconnected. If it is a very slow leak, you may have a connection that is working loose. Or, it could be as serious as a hole in the outer drum. Is this a top loader or a front loader washing machine?

When filling my Kenmore washer to begin a load of laundry the water enters the tub like it is going to wash but immediately drains onto the floor and the "water sensor" never tturns the water...

This either due to a detached "water sensor"/pressure switch hose or a broken drain/leaking drain pump. Disconnect power then remove the screws securing the console to the top of the machine. Pull the console forward then up and lay it back on the hinges. The screws are located at the rear of the console, front corners of the console, or at the front corners of the console under the end caps.

My bravos top loader will not fill up with water. The water drains as fast as it is trying to fill up. As a result, the wash cycle never completes.

You must make sure the drain hose is above teh water level and not in the water in the "P" trap of the house drain. There must be air to prevent siphoning. The drain hose should not go more than about 12" down in the drain tube.

My Maytag Top Loader will only fill with water up to 3 inches then it continues to drain while the water is coming in. How can I fix this myself?

You may have a condition known as "siphoning". This is usually caused by the drain hose not being high enough off the floor, or not having a proper air gap at the standpipe in order to drain properly. This creates a suction and the washer will constantly drain (siphon) as it tries to fill. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3575830-how_to_prevent_washer_siphoning

In the majority of the cases, this problem is attributed to improper installation, rather than an actual problem with the washer. If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

Won't start

if it filled proplerly and won't start now, it sounds like the door switch is broken, there could be something wrong with the rest of the electrical systems, however i would suggest the switch first. If there is a lot of noise like its trying to run, then its probably your transmission.

Maytag washer, model: LAT8415AAE top loader. Washer fills with water but will not start agitating, spin or drain.

Check lid switch. Most will not run with lid open and the switch may not be pressed down when door is closed

Maytag legacy series tub wont fill

Your drain hose is too low or there is no air gap where the hose enters the drain line.
This causes the water to siphon out as it fills.

Washer won't fill up

The problem is most likely your drain. If there is no air break at the drain,( a gap where the hose goes into the pipe so air can enter) Your water will siphon out of the machine. Also make sure your drain pipe is higher than the tub of your washer and you only want about 6 inches of the drain hose sticking into the pipe. If you have water coming back out of the pipe when the machine drains, you will need a plumber to clean the pipes or replumb the drain. New washers pump out faster than older ones did and they need a good drain to handle the flow.
