SOURCE: Coins stuck in Maytag Atlantis dryer. Could

First unplug the machine. Then remove the door.
You will then be able to remove the "goalpost" front panel. Then you will be able to get the hold down off so you can lift the top. Are the coils inside the drum vanes? Just remove them and dump the coins out and reattach the vanes. A lot of trouble for a few coin. That's the story of my life.

I have a Maytag Commercial electric dryer in my home ,brand new sat for 2 yrs,got it to work 3 times, then quit.Computer panel was bad, replaced it,the model # is MDE22PRBYW0 not what's showing above

So then, you have purchased a computer panel that is designed for a "pay" machine., or perhaps for another model than you have.
(In that case, the "d5" would mean something else.)
Please look at "Sears Parts Direct" on your computer and see what they say as to your replacement panel part number.
What I do is then go to e-bay and search the part after I get the correct number.
I surely hope Sears will have the schematic for your machine.
God bless your efforts.

I just bought a house that included in the sale a Maytag Coin-op Washer and Dryer. The coin box on each contains a key. How do I disable the need for putting coins in the washer and dryer so that I can...

  1. purchase a coin insert and blank the slot that coins fit in, then the slide will slid in without coins, just acting like a button, if you examine the slide you wil notice that there are plastic inserts in unused coin slots, any maytag commercial dealer has them.
  2. replace coin slide with 'free operation' converter, which is just a button plate that pushes the striker on the timer switch
  3. take top cover off and just push the striker on the timer, (this is NOT) a recommended option, 220v is enough to spoil you whole day)

Find a manual

The coin operator timer consists of several small plastic gears. The teeth on the last plastic gear gets all chewed up so that the timer continues to run and unable to open the circuit which stops the dryer timer. Although the plastic gear probably costs pennies, your will need to order part number 33001275 torsion timer for about $75 - $110. Remove one screw & 3 clip-on wires - 15 min.
