Solid red stand-by light on lower right corner when plug in TV. (it does not blink) If I press power button on the unit, the red light disappears and if I continue to press Power button ...the red light never comes back on. I have no picture or sound. TV has been in spare room for years and hardly ever used :-( It was purchased early 2014 I believe and has less than like 20 hours on it.
It probably got zapped with power. Regardless of how it broke, the first place to start is the main power supply board. Some people repair the caps, which without looking more in depth at some of the troubleshooting forums, I couldn't tell you which one is most often the culprit. It looks like the power supply boards are going for about $25 on ebay, and I would feel pretty confident replacing that at that price.
If that does not fix it, something on the main board could be "crowbarring", or sapping power from power supply from where it is needed to boot up, however, that would only be a secondary test to making sure our power supply is a good one.
Testimonial: "Unfortunately the new board did not fix the issue. I made sure to get right matching board from eBay and still have same issue. I'm not sure how I can validate the new power board works as well? Or has same issue? Again, I have solid red light when I plug in the unit but as soon as I press the ON/OFF button, the red light turns off and nothing happens. No beeps, nothing, nada :-( I do have voltage meter but just not sure what to test out. I can ask an EE for help I suppose."

Yes it was the main board. However, there are several versions of the main board and the person who sold me the main board sent one that was same part number on back of board but on front of board those numbers need match too. The tv now work but it's upside down. So you can still use it but flup upside down on wall r different stand. Yes, very lame and frustrating after spending $35 on power board (not needed) and $57 for main board that isnt compatible. I think this TV was pure waste of time and money to fix. Good luck!
