PN64F8500AFXZA Samsung plasma starts normally, everything perfect, after 10 minutes or so, without a sound or other indication of abnormality the screen goes completely black, the red power light stays off, there is no sound and the tv will not display menus or respond at all to the remote. After maybe 5 minutes it will come back on and everything appears normal again. It will do this until it is turned off. What can cause this?
A shorted main circuit board.

I wouldn't waste the money unless you can run tests on the old board, that part is expensive and I am only making a guess, so if you do replace it and it fails to correct the problem that would be on you. I would just replace the TV if it was me. The new sets are so cheap, VIZIO 48" super 4K HD is just about $390.00

Turn off the power saving options in the menu. This should solve the problem. Report back if it doesn't.
I had already tried that with no joy. I had seen that suggestion elsewhere.
